The stage is set for an epic NFC East clash as the Philadelphia Eagles face off against the New York Giants in Week 6. The game streams on Prime Video on October 9, with kickoff at 8:15 p.m. ET.
Eagles RB Saquon Barkley is expected to suit up for Thursday Night Football despite being limited in practice this week with a sore knee according to CBS. He didn’t suit up in last year’s Week 18 matchup, to stay fresh for the Eagles' Super Bowl run, but he left his mark earlier that season, torching the Giants for 176 yards on just 17 carries in Week 7.
Eagles RB Saquon Barkley Projection: 18.5 Longest Rush

Cool, yes, but more alarming than anything… We have an offense called by our QB - The good plays at least. It’d sure be awesome to have an OC who helped even the slightest bit, wouldn’t it? pic.twitter.com/HxAFxWPqdH
- Against the Giants in their previous meeting, Barkley recorded explosive runs of 55, 41, and 38 yards.
- The Giants rank as the sixth-worst rush defense in the league, giving up 700 rushing yards over the first five weeks of the 2025 season. They've allowed five runs of 20+ yards and two runs over 40 yards, including a 54-yard dash by Chargers rookie Omarion Hampton, per NFL stats.
- New York’s rush defense is the NFL's fourth-worst, surrendering 5.3 yards per carry. Barkley may not have hit a long run over 17 yards yet this season, but last year he smashed 17 runs over 20 yards and led the league with seven carries over 40 yards, per the NFL.
- Given that this is the weakest rush defense the Eagles have faced this season, expect Saquon to build on his explosive performances from last year against the Giants, as not much has changed from New York’s defense against the run.
