Puka Nacua Injury News: Will Puka Play This Week?

After suffering the groin injury during practice, Puka was absent from two practices leading up to Week 2. Fast forward a week, and Nacua missed all three practices before Week 3.

On Wednesday, Puka made significant progress by returning to practice in limited action. Furthermore, head coach Sean McVay said he expected Nacua to play vs. the Eagles on Sunday.

More good news arrived on Thursday, as Adam Grosbard of LA Daily News reported the Rams’ superstar WR is expected to practice in full.

As one of the league’s premier targets, this is a major addition to the 1-2 Rams. Puka led the way with 9 targets, 5 catches, and 74 receiving yards in Week 1’s deflating 27-7 loss vs. the 49ers.

Since his absence, Los Angeles has heavily leaned on WR Davante Adams, who racked up 11.5 targets, 7.5 catches, 166.0 receiving yards, and 1.0 TD per game over the last two weeks. Now, the Rams will likely feature one of the NFL’s top receiving duos for Week 4’s pivotal clash with the Eagles.

Puka Nacua Fantasy Football Outlook for Week 4

Philadelphia is off to a slow start, too. While the Eagles are 2-1 and atop the NFC East, they barely escaped 24-22 and 24-20 wins over the Commanders and Titans to open 2026. Further, Philly was pummeled in a 27-7 loss vs. the Bears in Week 3.

The Eagles surrendered 7.3 yards per passing attempt and a 55.3% dropback success rate (23rd) on Monday Night Football vs. the Bears, per RBSDM. On the season, Philadelphia has now conceded 0.165 dropback EPA (23rd).

This is should be a favorable matchup for a Rams offense led by QB Matthew Stafford, who boasts 10.5 air yards per passing attempt (second). Eagles CB Quinyon Mitchell is one of the best cover corners in the NFL, making Puka’s return even more vital.

According to Pro Football Focus, Davante Adams has taken 80.2% of his snaps out wide. Nacua took 83.3% of his snaps out wide in Week 1, but that was only 60.4% with 36.1% of his snaps in the slot across the 2025 season. Considering 2026 is a one-game sample size, more slot snaps are likely ahead for Puka.

Why does this matter? Adams could get most of the one-on-one matchups vs. Mitchell, while Nacua lines up all over the field, taking advantage of Philly’s holes in the secondary.

PrizePicks gives Puka the following projected stats vs. the Eagles: 76.5 receiving yards, 6 receptions, and 8 receiving targets. In comparison, Adams carries projections of 62.5 receiving yards and 8 receiving targets.
