PGA Championship Picks, Favorites to Win at Aronimink This Week

Dating back to the beginning of 2024, the nine winners of majors have been Xander Schauffele (2), Scottie Scheffler (3), Rory McIlroy (2), Bryson DeChambeau (1), and J.J. Spaun (1). All but DeChambeau (hurt by LIV not receiving World Ranking points) are among the top 15 players in the world.

All those events were held on courses that necessitated long drives off the tee to have reasonable approaches to difficult greens. Aronimink Golf Club in West Philadelphia, at just under 7,400 yards, isn't one of the longer major courses. Could that bring the shorter, more accurate golfers into play?

That might open the door for a winner outside the favorites, as we've seen a few times at the PGA Championship, most recently when 50-year-old Phil Mickelson won in 2021.

Let's break down our PGA Championship picks and favorites to win this week, including picks for potential winners.

PGA Championship Picks, Predictions, Winner Payouts for PGA Tour

While not as long as other courses, Aronimink does require accuracy off the tee and strong iron play from 150 to 200 yards. It also demands the ability to navigate the greens or scramble if needed.

Players who avoid the rough and make more accurate approach shots into sloped greens, guarded by bunkers, could have the most success over the 72 holes of the Donald Ross course.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is your defending PGA Champion, having won at Quail Hollow last May. Unlike the Masters, the PGA Championship rotates courses. The last champion at Aronimink was Keegan Bradley at the 2018 BMW Championship.

Here are the top favorites to secure a victory at the 2026 PGA Championship, via PrizePicks Team Picks, including their payouts if you predict them to win the tournament.

  • Scottie Scheffler: 5x payout
  • Rory McIlroy: 8.33x
  • Cameron Young: 10x
  • Jon Rahm: 11.11x
  • Xander Schauffele: 14.28x
  • Bryson DeChambeau: 16.66x
  • Ludwig Aberg: 16.66x
  • Matt Fitzpatrick: 22.22x
  • Tommy Fleetwood: 22.22x

Team Picks payouts are live as of writing and are subject to change.

2026 PGA Championship Picks, Predictions to Win

Here are three golfers to consider for your 2026 PGA Championship picks on PrizePicks Team Picks. Also listed are payouts for each golfer to win the tournament and finish in the top 10.

Cameron Young PGA Championship Prediction

Cameron Young PGA Championship Winner Payout: Yes 10x

Top 10 Payout: Yes 2.32x | No 1.56x

  • Cam Young has all the ingredients we are looking for this week. He's second in shots gained total and in greens hit, 16th around the greens, and 21st in shots gained on approach.
  • The Players and Cadillac Champion is also 12th in approach from 175-200 yards, where many of the shots could come from this week into very difficult greens.
  • We've seen what Young can do at premier events, given his track record that also includes holding a lead on the last day of the Masters, which features undulating greens like Aronimink's.
  • The Wake Forest product has seven consecutive top-25 finishes, with six of the finishes being inside the top-10. This is over a stretch that includes the Masters, the Players, and five Signature Events. No one else has a better recent resume.

Tommy Fleetwood PGA Championship Prediction

Tommy Fleetwood PGA Championship Winner Payout: Yes 22.22x

Top 10 Payout: Yes 3.7x | No 1.25x

  • Tommy Fleetwood has been a consistent grinder at majors, boasting 10 top-25 finishes in his last 17.
  • Over the last five years, Fleetwood is in the top 10 in shots gained total in majors.
  • While Fleetwood hasn’t won this season, he’s ninth in shots gained tee-to-green, fourth around the greens, and has hit 68% of greens this year from 150-175 yards. All of those metrics are relevant this week.
  • The Englishman finished fifth last year at Quail Hollow and was 23rd at Doral and eighth at the Players.

J.J. Spaun PGA Championship Prediction

J.J. Spaun PGA Championship Winner Payout: Yes 33.33x

Top 10 Payout: Yes 5.26x | No 1.13x

  • J.J. Spaun won the 2025 U.S. Open on a similar Pennsylvania course in Oakmont. This one isn’t as long, but the approaches and greens are comparable.
  • Spaun is ninth on the Tour this year on approach, 14th tee-to-green, fourth with proximity to the hole on approach, and 17th from 175-200 yards out. He's 17th in driving accuracy, too.
  • After a slow start to the season (three missed cuts and two finishes in the 40s), Spaun won at Valero and had three more top-25 finishes, including a fifth-place close last week.
  • The San Diego State product finished eighth last week in shots gained tee-to-green and fifth in shots gained overall.
