Last Thursday night, the New York Giants upset the Philadelphia Eagles, 34-17.
And last Thursday night, rookie New York Giants RB Cam Skattebo upset veteran Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley, 29.0 fantasy points to 6.1 fantasy points.
Bigger shocker? Let’s call it a tie, but it was a cool battle nonetheless, so what-say we do it again?

NFL Week 7: RB Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em — Saquon Barkley or Cam Skattebo?
Why Cam Skattebo?
- At 4:05 p.m ET on Sunday afternoon, the Giants will kick it off in Denver against a stingy Broncos run defense that allows a measly 89.0 yards on the ground per game, good for seventh in the league.
- Skattebo averages 13.2 fantasy points per game, landing him at RB11.
- The former Arizona State Sun Devil has hauled in 20 of his 24 targets for 155 yards.
- In that aforementioned Thursday night dub in Philly, the G-Men threw the ball 26 times, as opposed to 39 rushes.
- The 5’11”, 215-pound bowling ball has coughed up just 1 fumble.
- Skattebo delivered his longest rush of the year in Week 2 against Dallas (29 yards).
- Four of the rookie’s 5 TDs were scored at home — although it should be noted that three of them came against Philly last Thursday.
Cam Skattebo PrizePicks Projections: 56.5 Rush Yards, 14.5 Receiving Yards
Why Saquon Barkley?
- The 1:00 p.m. ET slate will see Philadelphia rumbling with the Vikings in Minnesota. Vikes DB Brian Flores’ crew ranks 18th in stopping the run.
- Barkley’s 11.7 fantasy points per game have him parked at RB17 for the year. Last season, he finished the season averaging 20.0 (RB1).
- The Eagles have lost two in a row, during which Barkley has totaled 157 rushing yards and 57 receiving yards.
- Like Skattebo, Barkley has caught 20 of his 24 targets.
- The eighth-year man has scored a total of 4 TDs, 3 on the ground and 1 through the air. Last season, he went for 13 and 2.
- Over the last two weeks, Barkley has averaged 9 carries, 3 targets, and 2.5 receptions.
- The former Giant hasn’t ripped off a run for longer than 18 yards.
Saquon Barkley PrizePicks Projections: 80.5 Rush Yards, 15.5 Receiving Yards
The Verdict:
Your inner football historian would say Barkley in a heartbeat. His 2024 season was epic by any standard, as he topped 2,000 rushing yards and led his Birds to a Super Bowl win. Dude’s a beast.
But this season, not so much.
Barkley has yet to top 100 yards on the ground in a single game; he’s seeing 15.8 carries per game, as opposed to his career average of 17.1; and the eye test tells us that he looks…meh.
Skattebo, however, is coming off of a 3-TD outing, and what with a rookie QB behind center in Jaxson Dart, Cam’s OC, Mike Kafka, has understandably leaned on the run.
So you might want to ignore your inner football historian, because here in Week 7, it appears that Cam Skattebo could be The Guy.
