Four teams are on a bye for Week 6, including the Lions and Bengals. Those are two of the most potent offenses in the league, especially with QB Jared Goff leading Detroit and QB Joe Burrow racking up TDs for Cincinnati.
With both teams and players having the week off, as well as some others being banged up, there are limited options for many fantasy football managers at the QB position.
Let’s break down our NFL Week 6 Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em battle between Colts QB Daniel Jones and Giants QB Jameis Winston for your fantasy football picks this week, including their best PrizePicks projections.

Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em QBs, Week 6: Daniel Jones or Jameis Winston?
Who'd be the better pick out of this NFL Week 6 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em discussion: Jones or Winston?
Why Start Daniel Jones?
Daniel Jones PrizePicks Projections: 235.5 Pass Yards, 1.5 Pass TDs, 16 Fantasy Score
- Jones didn't record a TD during the Colts’ 34-22 loss to the Steelers last week, but he threw for a season-high 267 yards on 44 pass attempts.
- Indianapolis has struggled defensively, allowing 27.6 points per game. That's forced their offense to throw a lot, leaving Jones with at least 34 pass attempts in each of their last three games. Per PFF, Jones ranks 12th in pass snaps and 10th in pass attempts out of 34 qualified QBs.
- While he hasn’t racked up many yards with his legs, the former Giant has 4 red-zone rush attempts, including a pair of carries inside the 5-yard line.
- Week 6 brings a matchup vs. the Titans, who sit 27th in dropback EPA/play allowed, according to RBSDM.
Add Daniel Jones + Colts to win to your PrizePicks lineup now.
Why Start Jameis Winston?
Jameis Winston PrizePicks Projections: 222.5 Pass Yards, 1.5 Pass TDs (Demon), 15.5 Fantasy Score
- Winston threw for 326 yards and 3 TDs during a 27-27 tie with the Commanders last week. He attempted a season-high 54 passes with the game going into overtime.
- The veteran signal-caller struggled initially while taking over for injured QB Jaxson Dart (knee), but he has 6 TDs over the last two games.
- Winston has an average depth of target (aDOT) of 9.5 yards, which is the seventh-highest mark among QBs.
- WR Malik Nabers looks to have shaken off the rust in his return from a torn ACL, posting 17 receptions for 233 yards and 2 TDs over the last two contests.
Add Jameis Winston + Giants to cover the spread to your PrizePicks lineup now.
Week 6 Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Verdict: Start Jameis Winston
Jones hasn’t been a fantasy-friendly option early on, recording 3 passing TDs to go along with 4 INTs. He surely misses WR Alec Pierce (heel), who's one of the most dangerous deep threats in the league.
Pierce being sidelined has likely contributed to Jones seeing his aDOT drop from 8.6 yards in 2025 to 7.7 yards in 2026.
As underwhelming as Jones has been, a matchup against the Titans puts just about any QB into the fantasy discussion. Their defense allows 7.8 yards per pass, the sixth-highest mark in the league. They've also given up at least 23 points in four of five contests.
With that said, Winston also has a great matchup against the Saints, who are 26th in dropback EPA/play on defense. Their 70.6% completion rate surrendered is the fourth-highest in the league, and they only have 1 INT.
The Saints’ offense averages 23.6 PPG, so it wouldn't be a surprise if this was a high-scoring affair in which both teams are required to throw a lot.
Winston's been more productive, has a great matchup, and has better weapons at his disposal than Jones. That makes him the superior option at QB for Week 6.

A clash with the Titans could help Jones produce one of his better stat lines of the season. However, Winston also has a great matchup and has better pass catchers on the field, making him the more optimal fantasy football starter for Week 6.
