Two big injuries last week impacted the RB position in fantasy football. At the top of the list, the Miami Dolphins will play the remainder of the season without RB De’Von Achane, who suffered a torn ACL in their 24-10 loss to the Chiefs.

Elsewhere, although his injury isn’t as serious, Jets RB Breece Hall (quad) is considered week-to-week moving forward. With Hall joining Achane on the sidelines for Week 4, let’s break down our NFL Week 4 Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em RB battle between their replacements.

Jets RB Braelon Allen and Dolphins RB Ollie Gordon II could be of intrigue for your fantasy football picks this week, and we'll pit them against each other while outlining their Week 4 PrizePicks projections.

Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em RBs, Week 4: Braelon Allen or Ollie Gordon II?

Who'd be the better pick out of this NFL Week 4 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em dilemma: Allen or Gordon?

Why Start Braelon Allen?

Braelon Allen PrizePicks Projections: 55.5 Rush Yards, 14.5 Rush Attempts, 10.5 Rec Yards

  • Allen’s best performance of this season came in the Jets’ Week 1 23-10 win over the Tennessee Titans. He finished the outing with 10 carries for 40 yards. He also had a rushing TD in the Jets’ 20-17 Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
  • The former fourth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft logged 32 offensive snaps with Hall leaving early last week. Fellow Jets backup RB Isaiah Davis had 16 snaps on special teams, but he didn't have a single rep on offense. Through three weeks, Davis has played exclusively on special teams.
  • Although injuries limited Allen to just four games last season, the Jets gave him 6 carries inside the red zone, including a trio of attempts inside the 10-yard line.
  • The Jets don’t seem to be as confident in Davis when they get in close. He appeared in 16 games in 2025 but only had 9 red-zone rushing attempts, including a lone carry inside the 10.

Why Start Ollie Gordon II?

Ollie Gordon II PrizePicks Projections: 30.5 Rush Yards, 9.5 Yards on Longest Rush, 0.5 Anytime TDs (Demon)

  • Gordon received 17 carries with Achane exiting early against the Kansas City Chiefs. That propelled him to 41 rushing yards and 1 TD. He also posted 3 receptions for 14 yards on 3 targets.
  • Despite only receiving 20 carries this season, the 22-year-old has forced 4 missed tackles, per Pro Football Focus.
  • Even with Achane healthy for most of last season, Gordon received 19 rush attempts in the red zone, including 6 carries inside the five-yard line.
  • The Dolphins’ passing attack has struggled with QB Malik Willis leading them to the third-worst completion percentage (57.0%) in the league. Miami has also generated just 1 passing TD.

Week 4 Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Verdict: Start Braelon Allen

Allen has a much better opportunity to beat Davis for a sizable role. Gordon was busy after Achane departed last week, but fellow Dolphins RB Jaylen Wright (foot) was out for that matchup.

Wright is being considered day-to-day and said he is ready to return for Week 4.

Wright's showed promise in the past, including a Week 14 matchup against the Jets last year in which he ran 24 times for 107 yards and 1 TD. At the very least, Gordon may split carries with him. The worst-case scenario, though, is that Wright takes the bulk job and runs away with it.

Another reason to like Allen is the Jets have a much better offense. The Dolphins average 12.0 points per game compared to 21.3 for New York. With Achane out, it’s difficult to envision the Dolphins’ offense improving.

Gordon could be the preferred TD option moving forward, but Miami might not get in the red zone enough to utilize him. Starting a player who was previously a backup on one of football's worst offenses is usually not a recipe for success in fantasy.

Allen and Gordon have the potential to play more after Hall and Achane went down with injuries. With that said, Gordon could compete with Wright for carries and is also a member of an anemic offense, further tilting the scales in Allen’s favor for fantasy purposes in Week 4.
