NFL Week 16 Cheat Sheet for PrizePicks

Top Games to Target in Week 16 for DFS

Seahawks vs. Vikings — 4:05 p.m. ET

We should see plenty of offense between the Minnesota Vikings and the Seattle Seahawks. Sam Darnold has seized his opportunity with the Vikings and delivered a terrific season under center.

The Seahawks’ defense, which has been middle-of-the-pack and slightly below preseason expectations against the pass, currently ranks 15th and allows just over 225 yards per game and nearly 22 completions per contest to quarterbacks.

Darnold has thrown for at least 240 yards in 9-of-14 games this season and is on pace for a 4,000-yard season. Seattle’s defense features two glaring weaknesses at cornerback in Josh Jobe and Tariq Woolen (68th out of 113 via PFF); the linebacking unit, with Ernest Jones IV and Tyrice Knight, also struggles in coverage, ranking in the bottom half of the league.

Seahawks QB Geno Smith left the last game due to injury, contributing to a Seahawks loss, but he practiced this week and should be good to go here. With eight wins, every victory counts, and this week they face a Vikings defense that is lackluster at best.

Vikings safeties Camryn Bynum (61st of 95) and Harrison Smith (57th of 95) have been poor in coverage, and the Vikings’ secondary as a whole is one of the league’s worst. Minnesota ranks 29th in passing yards allowed (2244.9 per game) and 31st in completions allowed (nearly 25 per game).

This presents a tremendous matchup for Smith and the Seahawks passing offense in a game with both teams fighting for Playoff positioning.

PrizePicks Picks: Geno Smith more than 227.5 Pass Yards / Jaxon Smith-Njigba more than 64.5 Receiving Yards / Geno Smith + Sam Darnold more than 470.5 Pass Yards (Combo)

Rams vs. Jets — 4:05 p.m. ET

Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams find themselves on the playoff bubble, making every game critical. This week, they face a New York Jets defense that has failed to meet preseason expectations, reflected in their higher-than-expected loss total.

The Jets allow 194passing yards per game and roughly 18 completions per game, setting Stafford’s passing yards projection at 242 yards on PrizePicks — a mark he has hit in seven of his last 10 games. The Jets will be without linebacker C.J. Mosley and could be down interior lineman Quinnen Williams (questionable), creating significant defensive gaps for a four-win team.

Jets QB Aaron Rodgers also gets a favorable matchup against the Rams, who rank 18th in the NFL in passing yards allowed (234 per game) and are among the worst in passing touchdowns allowed (23rd).

Both starting corners for the Rams have struggled: Darious Williams ranks 66th of 113 cornerbacks in coverage via PFF, and Cobie Durant ranks 79th. This softer secondary could provide Rodgers a chance to thrive late in the season.

PrizePicks Picks: Aaron Rodgers more than 242.5 Pass Yards / Matthew Stafford more than 243.5 Pass Yards

Best OL/DL Matchups to Target: Week 16

Falcons OL vs. Giants DL

The Giants are enduring a miserable season, managing only two wins. Their issues start in the trenches, as their defensive line has been among the worst in the NFL. Now, they’ll be without two of their best players up front: potential All-Pro interior lineman Dexter Lawrence and top edge rusher Brian Burns, both considered elite at their respective positions.

In Lawrence’s absence, Elijah Chatman (81st out of 104 interior defenders in pass rushing) will step in, along with seventh-round rookie Jordon Riley (just 138 snaps this season) and Elijah Garcia (51 snaps). The unit is painfully thin. Its lone bright spot is Kayvon Thibodeaux, who ranks 64th out of 117 edge defenders — hardly an inspiring mark.

The Falcons’ offensive line stands out as a rare positive in an otherwise struggling offense. Guard Chris Lindstrom ranks 1st among 75 NFL guards, while center Drew Dalman sits 5th out of 42 centers and has surrendered just eight pressures all year.

In rookie QB Michael Penix Jr.’s first start, the clean pocket should give this offense a boost. You can also expect the Falcons to lean more on star RB Bijan Robinson in Penix’s first start against a weak run stopping unit.

PrizePicks Picks: Bijan Robinson more than 90.5 Rush Yards

Colts DL vs. Titans OL

The Tennessee Titans’ offensive line is one of the worst in the league. Rookie first-round tackle JC Latham ranks 59th out of 80 tackles via PFF, allowing 37 pressures, and right tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere sits at 77th out of 80. Center Daniel Brunskill is 38th out of 42 centers, rounding out a unit comprised of bottom-tier performers.

They’ll face a formidable Indianapolis Colts front led by DeForest Buckner, who ranks 7th out of 115 interior defensive linemen via PFF, and Grover Stewart, who sits at 21st out of 115. Complementary pieces like Kwity Paye and Dayo Odeyingbo further strengthen an already stout unit.

PrizePicks Picks: Tony Pollard less than 19.5 Rush Yards in First 5 Attempts

Best WR/CB Matchups to Target: Week 16

Falcons WR Drake London vs. Giants CB Deonte Banks

In the secondary, the Giants have another glaring weakness: cornerback Deonte Banks. The former first-round pick is allowing nearly a 140 passer rating and over 13 yards per reception, ranking 101st out of 113 cornerbacks in coverage.

Opposite him will be Falcons’ top wideout Drake London. The first-round talent ranks 12th out of 128 receivers and sits in the top 10 for receiving touchdowns, receptions, and targets this season, setting up a potentially lopsided matchup.
PrizePicks Picks: Drake London 0.5 Rush+Rec TD (Demon) / 64.5 Receiving Yards

Bengals WR Tee Higgins vs. Browns CB Martin Emerson Jr.

The Cleveland Browns have their own coverage woes with cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. ranking 107th out of 113 corners. He’s allowing over 13 yards per reception and a near 110 passer rating when targeted.

Across from him, Tee Higgins — despite dealing with a knee injury — has remained quietly productive, averaging a 113 passer rating when targeted and over 13 yards per reception. Even with limited playing time this season, Higgins still ranks inside the top 35 in receiving yards with nearly 700 this season.

PrizePicks Picks: Tee Higgins 69.5 Pass Yards

Best TD Scorer Predictions for Week 16

Eagles RB Saquon Barkley vs. Commanders

NFL DFS Cheat Sheet for Week 16 PrizePicks

The Commanders’ defensive front struggles mightily against the run. Interior defender Jer’Zhan Newton ranks 95th out of 131 interior linemen in run defense and has been a disappointment as a second-round pick. Veteran Daron Payne is also underperforming, ranking 74th out of 131 in stopping the run.

While newly added linebacker Frankie Luvu is one of the better linebackers in the NFL, he still struggles against the run, ranking 65th out of 86 via PFF. This sets the stage for an MVP-caliber performance from Eagles RB Saquon Barkley.

The superstar running back ranks top-five in carries, rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, and yards per attempt (nearly 6.0 YPC), making him arguably the best running back in the league right now.

Vikings WR Justin Jefferson vs. Seahawks

NFL DFS Cheat Sheet for Week 16 PrizePicks

Due to injuries in the Seattle secondary, they will start undrafted cornerback Josh Jobe out of Alabama. This season, Jobe ranks 110th out of 113 cornerbacks in coverage via PFF, making him one of the league’s worst at his position. He has allowed 21 receptions while giving up over 13 yards per reception.

The young corner will be tasked with defending one of the NFL’s best wide receivers, Justin Jefferson. As always, Jefferson is having a stellar year, ranking inside the top 10 in receiving touchdowns, yards, receptions, and targets. When targeted, Jefferson boasts a passer rating above 100 and averages more than 15 yards per catch.
