NBA DFS Picks for PrizePicks, January 21

Here are five of the top NBA DFS picks on PrizePicks for Wednesday, January 21. Player stat projections via the PrizePicks real money NBA game.

Knicks F-C Karl-Anthony Towns vs. Nets Projection: 21.5 Points

  • Towns averages 21.0 points per game despite shooting a career low 46.7% from the field this season. His 35.8% shooting from behind the arc is on pace to be his lowest mark since his rookie season.
  • The star big man ranks second in the Knicks with his 26.1% usage rate. He and G Jalen Brunson (31.4%) as the only players on the Knicks to have a usage rate of at least 22%.
  • The Nets have allowed the third-highest shooting percentage (48.8%) in the league and have the fifth-worst defensive rating (117.4).
  • One of the reasons why the Nets allow such a high shooting percentage is that they give up the eighth-most points in the paint per game (52.5).
  • Towns scored 28 and 37 points in two previous meetings with the Nets this season.

Hornets F Brandon Miller vs. Cavaliers Projection: 20.5 Points

  • Miller scored at least 22 points in seven of his last 11 games. During that span, he shot 45.3% from the field and 39.4% from behind the arc.
  • This game will be played in Charlotte, noteworthy because Miller averages 20.8 points per game at home, versus 19.1 a night on the road.
  • The Hornets rank 26th (98.96) in pace of play, but they might be sped up in this game with the Cavaliers playing at the sixth-fastest pace (102.30).
  • Miller scored 25 and 20 points in two previous games versus the Cavaliers.

Raptors G Immanuel Quickley vs. Kings Projection: 17.5 Points

  • Raptors G Immanuel Quickley dominated the Warriors on Monday, posting 40 points and 10 assists in a 145-127 victory. He shot 11-for-143 from the field, including 7-for-8 from behind the arc. Additionally, he made all 11 of his free throw attempts.
  • The former Knick averages 33 minutes per game. Prior to this season, he had never averaged more than 29 minutes a night.
  • Quickley scores 18.0 points per game on the road, versus 15.8 points at home. He shoots 40.4% from the field in Toronto, but has made 46.3% of his shot attempts on the road.
  • The Kings have the fourth-worst defensive rating (119.1) in the league. Their 49.1% field goal percentage allowed is the second-highest mark.

Hawks G Dyson Daniels vs. Grizzlies Projection: 12.5 Rebs+Asts

  • Atlanta remains shorthanded with F-C Kristaps Porzingis (Achilles) and F Zaccharie Risacher (knee) ruled out for Wednesday.
  • Hawks G Dyson Daniels averages 6.7 rebounds and 6.2 assists for the season.
  • Over his last 12 games, the fourth-year guard combined for at least 13 rebounds and assists on ten occasions.
  • The Hawks (103.13) and Grizzlies (101.46) both rank inside the top -11 in the NBA in pace of play.

Thunder G Aaron Wiggins vs. Bucks Projection: 4 Rebounds

  • The Thunder are one of the deepest teams in the league, but they won’t be for this game due to injury. Thunder C Isaiah Hartenstein (calf), F Jalen Williams (hamstring), and G Alex Caruso (groin) have all been ruled out.
  • Thunder G Aaron Wiggins averaged 26 minutes over the last seven games with the team being shorthanded. The increased minutes helped him grab at least 5 rebounds in six of those games.
  • The 27-year-old averages 3.9 rebounds per game on the road, compared to 2.8 boards at home.
  • The Bucks rank 18th in the league in rebounds allowed per game (44.7). Their ability to control the boards could be compromised even more if Bucks C Myles Turner (ankle), who is listed as questionable, is unable to take the floor.
