Mariners vs. Tigers Prediction, Preview for 10/7/25
Unlike the Yankees-Blue Jays series — which consisted of a pair of Toronto blowouts — this series has seen plenty of drama.
Each contest has finished with identical 3-2 scores, starting with a Detroit victory in 11 innings of the opener. Seattle rebounded on Sunday to even up the series heading east to Michigan.
Seattle Mariners
The M’s are fresh off their first AL West title since 2001, but fell short in extra innings of Game 1. The most perplexing stat to come out of that loss was the fact that C Cal Raleigh and CF Julio Rodriguez picked up all 6 hits for Seattle, while the rest of the lineup combined to go 0-for-28.
Rodriguez drove in Raleigh to break a 2-2 tie in the eighth inning of Game 2 and give the Mariners their first home playoff victory in 24 years.
Detroit Tigers
The Tigers blew a double-digit lead late in the season for the AL Central title, but that's now a memory as they eliminated the Guardians in the Wild Card round.
Detroit is playing its first home game since September 21 and seek their first victory at Comerica Park dating back to September 6.
