Jets vs. Titans Prediction, Spread, Over/Under for Week 1 – Sunday, September 13

New York started Glenn’s debut season losing the first seven games. The lone positives overall were a comeback victory at Cincinnati and close home wins over Cleveland and Atlanta.

The Jets brought back QB Geno Smith following an unsuccessful cameo with the Raiders. Smith spent his first four seasons with the Jets and now tries to improve a New York offense that ranked 30th in EPA per pass in 2025, per RBSDM.

Tennessee’s offense didn’t improve much in Cam Ward’s first season at QB, sitting below New York in both offensive EPA/play and offensive dropback EPA. The Titans scored 20 or fewer points 11 times but did manage to put up 26+ in three of the final five games.

Not surprisingly, the two worst qualified QBs from an adjusted EPA/play standpoint were Smith and Ward. The former University of Miami standout had the lowest success rate (39.5%) of any starter; the Titans look to change that after selecting Ohio State star WR Carnell Tate with the fourth pick in the NFL Draft.

Tennessee also bolstered the wideout position with the acquisition of Wan’Dale Robinson from the Giants. Robinson compiled a career-high 1,014 receiving yards last season, and the Titans didn’t have a single player with more than 560 such yards.

Another former Buckeye attempts to step up for this struggling New York offense after WR Garrett Wilson failed to register a fourth consecutive 1,000-yard season. Wilson missed 10 games with a right knee injury but still led the Jets with 395 receiving yards. 

Ward threw 1 INT in the final 10 games and now gets to square off against a Jets defense that didn’t record a single pick in 2025.
