Jaguars head coach Liam Coen has stated that his starters will play for this game against the Steelers, meaning Hunter will be getting playing time in the Jaguars vs. Steelers preseason game today.
The bigger question is: Will Hunter play on both sides of the ball? Coen confirms that Hunter will also play snaps on offense and defense, as he has during training camp.
Steelers HC Mike Tomlin and Coen discussed playing starters a similar amount of time. Last year, Tomlin played offensive starters for one drive — including QB Russell Wilson — before pivoting to QB Justin Fields under center.

What To Expect From Travis Hunter in NFL Preseason Week 1
We know Hunter will play and be on both sides of the ball, but we’ll be interested to see how he is used in this game.
On the offensive depth chart, Hunter is listed as a first-team wideout, meaning we should see him with quarterback Trevor Lawrence and the rest of the starters. However, on the defensive side, he is listed on the second team as a cornerback.
In training camp, they eased Hunter into playing both sides because they wanted him to fully learn each playbook before he took reps on both sides.
He was initially getting more reps at wide receiver because Coen believed he needed more time to develop at that position. This had more to do with the complexity of learning the schemes, words, and calls.
It will be interesting to see how they divide up his snaps and if he’ll play only offense while the first team is on the field, then move to defense when all of the second unit gets in the game. However, his exact role is unknown until we see it on Saturday.
