Dream vs. Fever Prediction, Spread, Over/Under – Thursday, June 18

Year No. 2 with head coach Karl Smesko at the helm has the Dream thriving once again.

After going 30-14 in 2025, Atlanta is off to a similar pace at 9-4 on the season. This includes a 5-3 stretch since starting the year 4-1, albeit still good enough to build a half-game lead over tonight’s opponent for the second seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Fever also have a head coach in their second year with the franchise, and Stephanie White is leading the charge by raising the club’s win percentage from .545 to .643. Indiana has ripped off four wins in a row and five of its last six, finding a groove and sitting at 9-5 overall.

This has been a tight series in general, as the Dream have just a one-game advantage (35-34) all time in the regular season. Since the start of the 2024 campaign when Reese and Clark entered the WNBA, the tide’s turned, with Indiana being 7-2.

Thursday’s contest presents a battle of conflicting profiles, as Indiana is a run-and-gun offense that produces the second-most points among teams each night (91.6), whereas Atlanta holds foes to just 80.7 PPG (third-lowest).

These two teams last faced one another on June 4, with the Fever securing a commanding 83-71 victory. Neither star was a prime centerpiece in the bout, though, as Reese was outscored by three Dream teammates and Clark shot just 6-of-17 from the field.

Thursday’s game is the first of two straight clashes between Atlanta and Indiana, as they’ll face off once again in a nationally televised game in Atlanta on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. ET on ABC.

Dream vs. Fever Prediction on Spread – 6/18/26

Here are the key game stats and trends behind our Dream vs. Fever prediction on the spread for Thursday, June 18’s game.

  • Indiana is 4-4 against the spread and 6-2 straight-up as a home favorite this season. As road underdogs, Atlanta is 0-1 both ATS and SU.
  • Both of these squads look good when it comes to net rating, with the Dream’s +8.3 figure being third and the Fever fifth at +6.0, via databallr
  • Don’t let that one-game sample size scare you away from the Dream. There could be a direct matchup to take advantage of here, as they score more fastbreak PPG (12.3) than any team. The Fever’s fastbreak defense is 13th in the sport (9.8 PPG).
  • Atlanta is a strong interior team, ranking fourth in average points in the paint (41.1). That’s a weak point for Indiana, whose 41.6 mark is third-to-last leaguewide.
  • Another plus for the Dream could come via free throws, where they net 23.1 attempts each game, good for fifth in the W. The Fever surrender more tries on average (25.0) than all but one club.
  • The strength-on-strength matchup to keep an eye on is the competition on the boards. Indiana is the best rebounding team, bringing down 45.9 and allowing just 38.9 per game. Atlanta is right behind them in second place at 45.1 and 39.0, respectively.

  • Reese’s production has been more of the same this year, as her combined points and rebounds average of 26.9 is right in line with her career line of 27.0.
  • Although Reese’s field goal percentage is down year-over-year, she’s done a good job eliminating bad shots from her diet. A combined 2.6% of her looks are from 10 feet to the 3-point line after making up 11% as a rookie and 9.6% last year.
  • The former No. 7 overall WNBA Draft pick has secured a whopping 17 boards in three of her past four outings.
  • According to databallr, Reese’s 18.4% offensive rebounding rate and 20.5% defensive rebounding clip rank in the respective 99th and 89th percentiles.

  • While far from perfect, Clark’s 3-point shot has come back around a bit after an uncharacteristically bad mark in 2025 (27.9%). She’s shooting 32.4% from deep on 7.8 nightly attempts this year.
  • The former Iowa superstar is a solid defensive rebounder, pulling them down at a 14.0% rate that slots into the 68th percentile.
