CeeDee Lamb Injury Update: Is Lamb Playing This Week?

According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Lamb was diagnosed with a quad bruise, but it’s “not expected to be a long-term” issue.

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer confirmed that Lamb took a hit to the same injured thigh during Thursday’s contest.

Per ESPN’s Todd Archer, Lamb’s squad was tight following the hit. The star WR was even seen walking to the locker room during the fourth quarter.

Lamb originally suffered a leg injury against the Houston Texans in Week 4 and was listed on the team’s injury report prior to Thursday’s game. However, the Cowboys’ top WR logged full practices throughout the week leading up to the contest.

It appears as though the injury won’t keep Lamb out of the lineup for a significant period of time, but it's still worth keeping an eye on. If he misses Sunday’s bout in Green Bay, how does that affect fantasy football and picks for PrizePicks?

Cowboys Fantasy Football Outlook If CeeDee Lamb Is Out

When it comes to elite WRs, Lamb certainly catapults to the top of the list. According to FantasyPros, he had a WR5 average draft position (ADP) for fantasy football and was a first-round pick in most drafts before the season.

Lamb is tied for second in receptions (39) and is third in receiving yards (507) among all NFL WRs through the first five weeks. His 4 TDs are also tied for fourth despite him being banged up.

Lamb turned in his strongest performance of the season in Week 4, hauling in 17 passes for 189 yards and a TD against the Houston Texans. However, the former Oklahoma standout was slowed down by the quad injury, as he caught just 2 passes for 9 yards vs. the Buccaneers.

According to PlayerProfiler, Lamb has registered a 32.4% target share, good for third at his position. His 47 targets are the second-most among WRs. He's also been a threat inside the 20, catching 5 of his 7 red-zone targets (fourth for WRs).

Lamb has topped the 100-yard mark in three of his five games in 2026.

With Lamb’s status uncertain at this point, WR George Pickens could benefit from a potential absence. In three games without Lamb in 2025, Pickens caught 19 passes for 359 yards and 4 TDs, topping the century mark in two of those contests.

Week 6 offers a very intriguing matchup against the Packers, who are allowing 22.4 PPG. Additionally, the Packers have yielded -0.015 EPA/play (14th), a 44.7% defensive success rate (24th), and a 46.7% dropback success rate (17th), per RBSDM.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys have been dangerous offensively at times, tallying a 0.158 EPA/play (fifth), 0.246 dropback EPA/play (fourth), and a 51.8% dropback success rate (fourth).

The Packers' defense has also allowed a 46.7% success rate to opposing signal-callers but is surrendering just 181.0 passing yards per game (fifth). If Lamb does suit up, the Cowboys WR is 14th in routes run (168) and has dropped just a single pass this season, according to Pro Football Focus.
