Canada vs. France Prediction for 2026 Olympic Hockey

It’s hard to imagine Canada's hockey team having a more dominant start to the Winter Olympics than what it's accomplished so far. The Canadians have secured back-to-back wins and thrived on the offensive end of the ice.

With two dominant wins, Canada is now heavily favored to win the Olympic gold medal in men's hockey, with a 1.66x payout on PrizePicks Team Picks. United States is second behind Canada, with a 2.77x payout to win the gold.

In Friday’s 5-0 win against Switzerland, Canada C Connor McDavid continued to be the straw that stirs the drink for Canada.

As the first line right wing, McDavid registered a three-point performance against the Swiss in which he scored a goal and dished out a pair of assists. It’s the second consecutive three-point performance for the three-time Hart Trophy winner (NHL MVP).

It’s an embarrassment for riches when it comes to Canada’s roster. Colorado Avalanche C Nathan MacKinnon also tallied a goal and two assists in Friday’s victory.

Meanwhile, France doesn’t have anywhere near the amount of NHL talent on its roster that Canada does. The French have just one current NHL player on its roster in Montreal Canadiens LW Alexandre Texier, who has just 18 points on the season (outside of top 300 players).

France men's hockey was outscored 10-3 in losses against Switzerland and Czechia to begin the tournament —and now. itruns into a buzzsaw Canadien team that's the favorite to win the tournament.

While Canada is favored to win the gold on PrizePicks, France is a long shot to even reach the podium in men's hockey, with a 33.33x payout ($3,333 payout on a $100 entry)to win a medal.
