After sustaining a quad injury in Week 3, Jets RB Breece Hall missed Week 4’s 23-12 loss vs. the Bears, and he’s now in danger of missing his second consecutive game for Week 5’s battle with the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, October 11.

In Hall’s first full absence of the 2026 season, the Jets tallied their lowest point total with only 12 points, paired with a measly 59 rushing yards in the loss. Meanwhile, the Browns are on a three-game winning streak, and PrizePicks tabs the Jets as 2.5-point favorites for the spread on Sunday.

What’s the latest Breece Hall injury update? By diving into his practice status, we’ll get a potential look at his shot to play in Week 5. Hall makes a clear impact on fantasy football and Browns vs. Jets picks for NFL Week 5.

Breece Hall Injury Update: Will Hall Play This Week?

Following 58.2% and 64.9% snap shares to open the season, Breece Hall had a 48.5% snap rate due to his quad injury suffered in Week 3. As mentioned, New York struggled to get the run going with only 59 rushing yards in Hall’s first full absence last week.

After initially being tabbed as a week-to-week injury, Hall was absent from all three practices ahead of Week 4. On Wednesday, the Jets’ RB1 was once again a non-participant for practice, suggesting a grim outlook for his Week 5 status.

According to Al Iannazzone of Newsday Sports, Hall was not spotted during the team warm-up portion of Thursday’s practice.

Assuming he’s a non-participant at Thursday’s practice, that’s five straight absences. In the best-case scenario, Hall is limited for Friday’s practice, paired with a questionable status for Sunday, though another absence looks likely considering his week-to-week status.

After playing in only seven games in his rookie season, Hall appeared in 17, 16, and 16 contests over his previous three seasons. He hasn’t missed multiple games since 2022, adding to the Jets’ challenge for replacing his production.

Jets Fantasy Football Outlook If Breece Hall Is Out

Hall wasn’t completely dominating snaps in his first two games when healthy. New York RB Braelon Allen took 40.3% and 31.1% snap shares in those games. When Hall left with his quad injury in Week 3, Allen finished with a 51.5% snap rate.

Despite the potential for Jets RB Isaiah Davis to take snaps in Hall’s first full absence, Allen dominated last week’s workload with a 93.8% snap share. That yielded 14 carries, 59 rushing yards (4.2 YPC), 2 targets, 2 receptions, 8 receiving yards, and 8.7 fantasy points for PPR leagues (RB33).

During Week 4’s 23-12 loss vs. the Bears, the Jets were in a negative game script, featuring a 13-3 deficit at halftime and a 20-6 score headed into the fourth quarter. Further, New York recorded only 32 plays to Chicago’s 89.

Frankly, Allen still receiving 16 touches in this environment was a borderline miracle. After Davis took only 2 snaps last week, Allen should have virtually no competition for touches if Hall misses another week.

Furthermore, the Jets’ passing game is thin right now, with WR Adonai Mitchell (finger) and TE Mason Taylor (thumb) battling injuries. As 2.5-point favorites on the spread, New York could be in a game script where it can run the rock often, unlike Week 4.

Week 5’s opponent, the Browns, allow 4.6 yards per rushing attempt (24th) compared to 7.0 yards per passing attempt (16th). According to RBSDM, Cleveland concedes a 45.0% dropback success rate (12th), sitting comfortably ahead of a 44.7% rush success rate allowed (27th).

Check out some of Braelon Allen’s projections vs. the Browns, via PrizePicks.

  • 71.5 Rush Yards
  • 15.5 Receiving Yards
  • 0.5 Anytime TDs
  • 17.5 Rush Attempts
  • 2.5 Receptions
  • 15 Fantasy Score

Projections are expecting a bump in work for Isaiah Davis, who is projected for 10.5 rush yards and 2.5 rush attempts on Sunday.
