Breece Hall Injury Update: Will Hall Play in Week 7 vs. Dolphins?
Hall has been sidelined for the Jets’ last three games and didn’t practice on Wednesday as New York continued its preparation for Miami. With that said, he'll be evaluated as the week goes on.
Once Hall is ready to return, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn revealed that Hall will assume his role as the team’s starting RB.
“Breece is our starter, he’s always been our starter, but Braelon (Allen) is going to get touches too,” Glenn said, per The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt.
Thursday and Friday's practices should be more telling. If Hall can’t suit up in Week 7, how does that affect fantasy football and Jets picks for PrizePicks?
Jets Fantasy Football Outlook If Breece Hall Is Out
The Jets have hitched their wagon to Hall as the team’s workhorse RB. After placing the non-exclusive franchise tag on him in March, the former Iowa State standout signed a three-year, $45.75 million contract extension to make him one of the league’s highest-paid RBs.
From a fantasy football perspective, Hall offers significant upside. According to FantasyPros, he had an RB16 average draft position (ADP) this summer and was taken in the third round of most PPR drafts.
In three games, Hall has logged 51 carries for 163 yards (3.2 yards per carry) and a TD, plus 10 catches for 102 yards. The former second-round pick had a spectacular Week 1, rushing for 102 yards and a TD on 4.6 YPC.
Hall has carried a significant share of the rushing load in New York, boasting a 57.6% snap share (20th among RBs), per PlayerProfiler. He's been elusive in the opening field, registering 13 evaded tackles (25th for RBs).
If Hall has to sit out another game, the Jets will continue to give most of the rushing work to Allen. Allen has rushed for 314 yards on 74 carries (4.2 YPC) and has found the end zone twice. The former Wisconsin star tallied 116 yards and a TD against the Cleveland Browns in Week 5.
Week 7 offers a great matchup against a Dolphins team that has yielded 110.6 rushing YPG (16th). Miami's surrendered 26.4 PPG (24th) and a -0.113 rush EPA/play mark (13th), per RBSDM.
Meanwhile, the Jets have registered a -0.173 rush EPA/play (23rd) and a 37.8% success rate (19th) without their top RB. In his three starts, Allen has gone for 75+ yards twice.
If Hall can return for this weekend, the fifth-year RB could have a fair chance of excelling against a struggling Dolphins team.

Breece Hall has missed the past three games with a quad injury. If he returns in Week 7, the Dolphins may present a solid matchup for him. If not, RB Braelon Allen figures to continue being the bulk back for the Jets in a division rivalry bout.
