Bucks vs. Wizards Prediction on Spread Tonight – 10/21/26

Win Spread Total
MIL Bucks 2.43x +4.5 | 1.92x o240.5 | 1.96x
WAS Wizards 1.51x -4.5 | 1.81x u240.5 | 1.75x

In a franchise-shifting trade, the Bucks dealt Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Heat for G Tyler Herro, F Jaime Jaquez Jr., G Kasparas Jakucionis, C Kel’el Ware, and picks. Milwaukee had two 2026 first-round rookies and selected G Brayden Burries (#10) and F Nate Ament (#13).

Entering the season, the Bucks have a 25.6 average age (10th-youngest), per RotoWire. According to PrizePicks, Milwaukee has a 1.53x payout to reach 25+ wins this season.

The Wizards’ average age of 25.3 forms the seventh-youngest team in the league, and Washington now has vets, G Trae Young and F Anthony Davis, to go alongside players like G Kyshawn George, G Tre Johnson, and C Alex Sarr.

Of course, the Wiz selected F AJ Dybantsa with the #1 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, but Dybantsa’s debut will have the wait, as he’s inactive due to an ankle injury tonight.

According to NBA.com, Washington finished last in defensive rating a season ago, and Anthony Davis could bring minimal help with his mediocre 114.6 defensive rating last season (league average was 115.6). C Deandre Ayton also joins the frontcourt, and he posted a 115.5 defensive rating in 2025-26.

With the Wiz returning most of their backcourt, one of the league’s bottom-tier defenses likely still resides in Washington.

The Bucks had similar struggles on defense last year, finishing with an 118.3 defensive rating (26th) while allowing 116.8 points per game (21st) and a 55.8% effective field goal percentage (25th).

In theory, Milwaukee’s defense is headed for an improved year, with Ware (114.1), Jaquez (111.9), and Jakucionis (112.9) all sporting above average defensive ratings a season ago. Further, Burries was regarded as one of the best two-way guards in the 2026 class.

G Trae Young played in only five games as a Wizard last season, but he’s expected to be in a full-time role once again. Young’s career 7.4 3-point shots per game should increase Washington’s 40.6% 3-point shot distribution (20th) from last season, per databallr.

Furthermore, George (38.1%), Johnson (35.8%), and G Bub Carrington (40.8%) form a capable 3-point shooting backcourt. However, the Bucks’ perimeter defense should take a step forward thanks to Burries, Jakucionis, and Jaquez.

Milwaukee may show off an improved defense to open the NBA season, potentially fueling success on the road.

Bucks G Ryan Rollins vs. Wizards: 17.5 Points

  • Ryan Rollins was mainly in a bench role with 14.6 minutes and 6.2 points per game in 2024-25. That completely changed last season, including 67 starts, 32.1 minutes per contest, and 17.3 PPG.
  • Excluding Giannis with only 36 games played, Rollins’ 13.9 field goal attempts per game topped the team.
  • After Rollins shot 47.2% from the field and 40.6% on 3-pointers with a 58.1% true shooting percentage (77th percentile), there’s little reason for the Bucks to scale back his role in 2026-27.
  • Tyler Herro, who averaged over 20.0 PPG in his last five games, will surely take on a prominent role in the backcourt, but the Bucks have plenty of shots to go around since Giannis (16.6 shots per game) and G Kevin Porter Jr. (13.5 shots per game) are no longer part of the team.
  • Rollins should mostly matchup with Trae Young, who had an abysmal 124.1 defensive rating in limited showings during the 2025-26 season.
Pick Ryan Rollins + Bucks to win on PrizePicks.

Jazz vs. Grizzlies Prediction on Winner for Tonight – 10/21/26

Win Spread Total
UTA Jazz 1.92x +1.5 | 1.85x o240.5 | 1.92x
MEM Grizzlies 1.81x -1.5 | 1.88x u240.5 | 1.81x

This battle is surely headlined by two top-three picks from the 2026 NBA Draft. The Jazz selected G Darryn Peterson with the #2 pick, and the Grizzlies snagged F Cameron Boozer at #3. According to PrizePicks, Boozer has the shortest payout to win Rookie of the Year (3.33x), and Peterson has the fourth-lowest payout (5.55x).

The Grizzlies are slight 1.5-point favorites for the spread tonight, but they’re in the midst of a rebuild with an average age of 24.5 (second-youngest). Frankly, don’t expect Memphis to turn the corner soon, with G/F Cedric Coward, G/F Jaylen Wells, F Cameron Boozer, and C Zach Edey leading the rotation.

Meanwhile, one could argue there’s legitimate upside to a Jazz roster that includes G Keyonte George, G Darryn Peterson, F Lauri Markkanen, and PF/C Jaren Jackson Jr. Plus, F Brice Sensabaugh (14.9 PPG in 2025-26) comes off the bench alongside former 2025 #5 pick, F Ace Bailey (13.8 PPG in 2025-26).

Utah had the second-worst defensive rating in the league a season ago, but Jackson played in only five games with the Jazz. Improvement should be ahead with the former Defensive Player of the Year in a full-time role.

Most importantly, this lineup has a ton of scoring upside; George (23.6 PPG), Markkanen (26.7 PPG), and Jackson (19.4 PPG) each had healthy scoring totals in the 2025-26 campaign. We mentioned Sensabaugh and Bailey supplying points as reserves, and Peterson was arguably the most talented pure scorer of the 2026 NBA Draft.

Peterson shot 38.2% with 6.9 3-point attempts per game in college. That should bring a 3-point boost alongside George (6.7) and Markkanen (7.7) each shooting over 6.0 triples per contest last season.

Assuming Utah’s 3-point volume increases, that’s a potential advantage vs. the Grizz defense that ceded a 42.7% 3-point shot distribution (10th-highest) in 2025-26.

Memphis’ backcourt is full of below-average defensive ratings: G Ty Jerome (127.2), G/F Jaylen Wells (117.8), G Cam Spencer (116.0), and G Scotty Pippen Jr. (118.7). That’s a clear issue against a team that can put a ton of pressure on wing defenders.

Jazz G Darryn Peterson vs. Grizzlies: 13.5 Points

  • As mentioned, Peterson is behind Boozer in the Rookie of the Year race ahead of Opening Night. That comes with good reason, as Peterson joins a lineup with established scorers like Markkanen and George.
  • It’s unlikely we see the rookie dominate in shot attempts, making his efficiency vital for projections this season.
  • According to The 5th Factor, Peterson shot 34.5% on 3-pointers (61st percentile) and had a 45.5% effective field goal percentage (37th percentile) at the Summer League.
  • Those inefficiency woes continued into the preseason, including a 44.4% field goal percentage and an alarming 18.8% on 3-pointers.
  • Peterson took 35.6% of his shots from 3-point land in the preseason, drawing more concern to that efficiency from deep.
  • Assuming he takes a backseat to George, Markkanen, and Jackson, Peterson’s point totals could stay low until he snaps out of his cold streak.
