Iowa State vs. #8 BYU Anytime TD Scorer Picks – Friday, October 9

BYU was one of the top teams in the Big 12 last season; however, it lost to Texas Tech twice, including in the Big 12 Championship, which ended its College Football Playoff hopes.

The Cougars have started the season strong, outscoring their opponents 132-47. However, they played a close game against TCU and narrowly won 17-10.

In that game, they lost RB LJ Martin due to injury, who leads the team in carries (44) and rushing yards (344). QB Bear Bachmeier became the team’s leading rusher in Martin’s absence. With Martin out, Bachmeier may need to use his dual-threat ability to avoid an upset.

Iowa State has flexed its offensive muscles against below-average defenses such as Bowling Green and West Virginia, scoring more than 40 points in each game. But against tougher defenses like Iowa and Utah, it's struggled, scoring fewer than 20 points.

BYU isn’t far behind Iowa and Utah defensively, ranking in the 87th percentile in points allowed per game (14.2). However, its two Big 12 opponents so far (Arizona and TCU) rank in the conference's bottom three for points per game.

The Cyclones are better offensively and have scored the fifth-most TDs in the conference (21).

Anytime TDs on PrizePicks include rushing, receiving, recoveries, and returns. PrizePicks often list Anytime TDs as Demons and Goblins, meaning users can only select "More." For standard projections, users can select “More” or “Less.”

Demons are tougher to win but offer the highest payouts. Meanwhile, Goblins are lower than a standard projection but easier to win, so they pay less.

Iowa State RB Aiden Flora vs. BYU: 0.5 Anytime TDs (Demon)

  • Flora has been one of the country's top running backs, ranking seventh in rushing yards (594) and ninth in rushing TDs (6).
  • He's reached the end zone in three of five games, including multiple TDs in two.
  • The ISU running back often shows his explosiveness by leading the country with 5 rushes for 30+ yards.
  • BYU has been great against the run this season, ranking in the 93rd percentile for rushing yards allowed per game (75.0), but Flora will be the first running back it's faced who ranks in the top 25 in rushing yards.
Pick Aiden Flora + Iowa State to win on PrizePicks.

BYU QB Bear Bachmeier vs. Iowa State: 0.5 Anytime TDs (Goblin)

  • Bachmeier has been productive with his legs this season, rushing for a TD in three of four games.
  • BYU is one of the country's top rushing teams, ranking in the 97th percentile in EPA per rush (+0.25). Iowa State struggles here, sitting in the 34th percentile in EPA allowed per rush (+0.09).
  • BYU RB LJ Martin is out for four to six weeks due to a lower-body injury. When Martin left the game against TCU, Bachmeier became the primary rusher, leading the team with 15 carries and 66 yards.
  • Iowa State ranks in the 35th percentile for rushing TDs allowed (8).
Add Bear Bachmeier + BYU to cover the spread to your PrizePicks lineup now.
