Alexander Zverev of Germany returns the ball to Marcos Giron of the United States in their third round men's singles match at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in London, Saturday, July 4, 2026.

Alexander Zverev and Arthur Fery are both first-time Wimbledon semifinalists, but their career resumes couldn’t be any more different as they meet in Thursday's Wimbledon's men's semifinal.

Zverev is the world No. 3 and has been a major finalist at all three other majors. He just won his first Grand Slam title at the 2026 French Open and should be a threat to win more major titles in the years to come.

On the other hand, Fery hasn't even played in the main draw at two of the four Grand Slams, and this Wimbledon appearance came via a wild card. The young Brit is ranked outside the top 100, and his previous best Wimbledon result was reaching the second round in 2025.

Unsurprisingly, the far more accomplished Zverev is a sizable favorite according to PrizePicks, where Fery has a 5.26x payout to win. Will the German advance to his second straight major final, or will Fery keep his — ahem — fairy-tale run going?

Below, we’ll break down our Arthur Fery vs. Alexander Zverev prediction for the 2026 Wimbledon semifinal, including recent form, match analysis, and a PrizePicks tennis pick. The Fery vs. Zverev match is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. ET. Friday’s Wimbledon coverage is on ESPN and the ESPN App.

After grinding out back-to-back five-setters, Arthur Fery’s Cinderella run looked like it might finally come to a close with world No. 10 Flavio Cobolli on tap in the quarterfinals. Cobolli wasn’t long removed from finishing runner-up at this year’s French Open, so it was logical to assume the moment wouldn’t be too big for him.

Instead, it was Cobolli who wilted under the pressure, and Fery would ride the home crowd to a 6-4, 7-6(4), 6-0 victory.

The 23-year-old Brit is now just the fourth wild card in the Open Era to reach a major semifinal.

However, Zverev could be the guy who finally spoils all the fun.

He’s coming off a dominant straight-sets victory over world No. 7 Taylor Fritz, breaking a seven-match losing streak to the American.

While grass has historically been the German’s “worst” surface, most players would gladly take his career 66.7% win percentage on it. Zverev’s also no stranger to playing in the late stages of Grand Slams, as this will be his 12th major semifinal.

Meanwhile, the inexperienced Fery entered Wimbledon with a 4-4 tour-level record in 2026 and a career 4-5 record in tour-level grass-court matches. He had previously never reached even the third round at a major.

Although Fery beat Cobolli in straight sets, his four other matches have gone four or five sets. In contrast, Zverev has mostly breezed through his draw, dropping two sets all tournament.

Zverev easily has the far bigger serve, which isn’t surprising given the height difference between Fery (5’9”) and Zverev (6’6”).

At this tournament, the German has tallied 78 aces while winning 81% of his first-serve points and 59% of his second-serve points, compared to the Brit, who has recorded just 32 aces while winning 73% and 56% of those points, respectively.

It’s been a dream tournament for Fery, but it’s possible the magic finally runs out on Friday as Zverev looks to go for back-to-back Grand slam titles.
