Timberwolves SG Anthony Edwards has missed four games this season and might be sidelined for his team’s premier Friday night matchup with the Warriors. Minnesota’s leading scorer is listed as questionable due to right foot soreness just a few days after scoring 40 points against the Suns.

This year could wind up being Edwards' best offensive campaign yet. He's averaging a career-high 28.7 points through 20 games and has raised his efficiency from the field (50.0%) and beyond the arc (41.9%). He’s also getting to the free throw line more than ever.

Below, we’ll provide an Anthony Edwards injury update and go over another Timberwolves player worth monitoring, plus PrizePicks NBA projections and analysis for Friday night.

Anthony Edwards Injury Update vs. Warriors Tonight

Edwards is still questionable for Friday’s game against the Dubs. The Minnesota star has regularly made it a point to try and play whenever he can and hasn’t missed time since he sat in four consecutive contests between late October and early November with a right hamstring strain.

The Georgia product‘s team is 2-2 without him, but its wins came against struggling teams like the Hornets and Nets. The Nuggets are Lakers proved to be too much for Minnesota in the other outings.

Edwards’ co-star has never been one to shy away from taking shots and assuming a larger role, though. PF Julius Randle may gladly increase his shot volume ahead of the weekend in hopes of giving the Timberwolves a chance to win at the Chase Center if Edwards is out or limited.

That could especially be the case with Draymond Green, an elite defender, out of commission for the Warriors.

Who Would Benefit With Anthony Edwards Out?

Randle has taken a step forward after, in his first season with the Wolves, averaging fewer than 20 points per game for the first time since 2019-20. The do-it-all big man is averaging 22.9 points and 7.1 rebounds while matching his career-high of 6.0 assists so far in 2025-26.

Randle posts 28.0 points per 100 possessions with Edwards on the court this season. That number skyrockets to 38.2 when Ant-Man is off the court, according to Add More Funds.

In four Edwards-less games this year, the former Knicks star averaged 26.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.8 rebounds. That’s right in line with his per-36 averages of 24.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 6.4 assists.

Randle creates 13.8 assists per 100 possessions and is on the ball 21.6% of the time, per databallr. Both of those stats are 95th-percentile figures. Green won’t be there to anchor the league’s fourth-best scoring defense, so Randle may have a path to create for himself and others.
