Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown runs after the catch vs. the Chiefs.

The Lions handed the Vikings their first loss of the season last week, and now Detroit is on a three-game winning streak and a 6.5-point favorite on the spread vs. the Dolphins today, per PrizePicks.

As usual, the Lions simply cannot catch a break on the injury front. Alongside several key injuries on offense, WR Amon-Ra St. Brown was limited at practice this week and was officially tabbed as questionable.

If St. Brown is out, that could make Week 9’s battle with the Dolphins more competitive. Ahead of Sunday’s 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff, here’s the latest Amon-Ra St. Brown injury update and if he will play.

Amon-Ra St. Brown Injury Update: Will St. Brown Play vs. Dolphins in NFL Week 9?

Good news broke on Sunday morning, as St. Brown was labeled as expected to play.

In Week 8’s 19-15 win over the Vikings, St. Brown suffered the rib injury and proceeded to be a limited participant at all three practices leading up to Sunday’s game vs. the Dolphins.

Amon-Ra is building an “Iron Man” reputation; he’s yet to miss a game this season and appeared in 17 contests his last two seasons. In fact, St. Brown has missed only two games over his six-year career, and you have to go back to 2023 to find an absence.

Paired with superstar RB Jahmyr Gibbs appearing in every game since 2024, Detroit regularly has some of the league’s best skill position players to lean on. Of course, the Lions haven’t avoided injuries — especially on the defensive side — but at least their best have been mostly on the field.

With that said, here’s what St. Brown’s presence could mean for fantasy football and picks on PrizePicks.

Lions Fantasy Football Outlook With St. Brown Active

Entering Week 9, St. Brown is WR4 for PPR leagues in fantasy football, and that’s with a bye baked in. He’s produced 20.1 fantasy points per game (FPPG), trailing only Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (21.0), Rams WR Puka Nacua (23.1), and Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba (27.5). That’s some decent company.

From the 2023 to 2025 seasons, Amon-Ra generated 10, 12, and 11 receiving TDs. He continues to find the end zone at a high clip courtesy of 5 receiving TDs in seven games this season. PlayerProfiler has St. Brown with 16 red zone targets (third) and a ridiculous 32.7% red zone target share (seventh).

St. Brown continues to get the brunt of the work in the passing game, featuring a 31.1% target share (fourth), an 89.6% route share (fifth), and 33.9% air yards share (24th).

The Dolphins should provide plenty of chances to score, with the unit giving up  25.9 points per game (23rd) and 5.7 yards per play (24th). Detroit, meanwhile, racks up 29.0 PPG (third) and 5.9 yards per play (fifth), and the Lions have a 1.88x payout to go over 28.5 points compared to 1.85x to go under vs. Miami, per PrizePicks.

According to FantasyPros, St. Brown was highlighted as WR5 for PPR leagues in Week 9’s fantasy football rankings. He remains a weekly must-play in fantasy lineups, especially against a stumbling Dolphins team.

Here’s a look at St. Brown’s projections vs. the Dolphins, via PrizePicks:

  • 76.5 Receiving Yards
  • 6.5 Receptions
  • 9 Rec Targets
  • 0.5 Anytime TDs
  • 17 Fantasy Score

Will Amon-Ra provide another big-time performance following 85.8 receiving yards per game over his previous four?
