The 2026 Masters Round 2 will tee off at 7:40 a.m. ET on Friday, April 10, with defending champion Rory McIlroy and Sam Burns sharing the first round lead at 5-under par.

McIlroy, who won the 2025 Masters, tallied 6 birdies and a bogey to finish with a 67 — just the sixth defending Masters champion to open the following weekend with 67 or better.

Below, we'll break down our 2026 Masters Round 2 picks for Friday, including predictions for the Masters second-round leader, strokes, and birdies on PrizePicks.

Make your picks on Round 2 of the 2026 Masters on PrizePicks — and claim your 30% payout boost to win even more if you're right, every day during the Masters.

2026 Masters Round 1 Results, Takeaways

Tied for the Round 1 lead at 5-under-par, McIlroy is aiming to become just the fourth golfer to win back-to-back green jackets. If he continues his Thursday pace, he would join Jack Nicklaus (1965-66), Nick Faldo (1989-90), and Tiger Woods (2001-02).

Meanwhile, Sam Burns also shot a 67, easily the best round he’s ever shot at Augusta National and the surprise of Thursday's first round.

Burns, in his fifth Masters appearance, had only broken 70 once in 12 career rounds at the grandaddy of them all. It’s the fourth time that Burns holds the first-round lead/co-lead on the Tour, converting for a win once.

Patrick Reed, Kurt Kitayama, and Jason Day are tied for second, 2 shots back of McIlroy and Burns at 3-under par. Right behind them, tied for third, are world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, two-time major champion Xander Schauffele, and 2025 Masters runner-up Justin Rose, all well within striking distance at 2-under par.

The Masters first round results are key, as 18 of the last 20 Masters champions have been inside the top 10 after Thursday's first round.

This year's top 10 group is rounded out by 2025 FedExCup winner Tommy Fleetwood and 2019 U.S. Open winner Gary Woodland, who won two weeks ago in Houston after having brain surgery in 2023.

Of the top 10 favorites to win the Masters coming into the first round, Jon Rahm (+6) and Bryson DeChambeau (+4) were the underwhelming performers at Augusta on Thursday. Both will have to improve to make the cut on Friday.

2026 Masters Round 2 Picks, Predictions, Payouts

As we head to Friday for the Masters second round, keep in mind that each of the last 14 Masters winners were in the top-7 or better after 36 holes. McIlroy was in third place after the second round en route to his win last year.

Can Rory go back-to-back after winning his first Masters? Or will Scottie Scheffler or Patrick Reed jump to the top of the leaderboard on Friday?

Here are the top favorites to lead the Masters leaderboard after Friday at the 2026 Masters, via PrizePicks Team Picks, including their second round leader payouts.

Numbers represent payout multipliers; for example, a 4x payout on a $100 entry pays $400. Lower payout multipliers indicate a higher implied probability based on user picks.
