If you predicted the Denver Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars, Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots, Chicago Bears, and Carolina Panthers to sit atop their divisions entering the final two weeks of the NFL season, please email me your preseason picks from August — I need documentation. because that would be unbelievable.
A wild and unpredictable NFL season has two weeks of games left before the postseason field of 14 plays for the Vince Lombardi Trophy. We already know 10 of the 14 teams, but there's plenty we don't know, i.e...
- Seven of the eight division titles are up for grabs.
- Two postseason spots in each conference are open, with four teams in each conference battling for those.
- Denver, New England, and Jacksonville all alive for the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
- Chicago and three NFC West teams (Niners, Rams, Seahawks) battling for No. 1 seed in the NFC.

#3: Jacksonville Jaguars (11-4)
NFL Super Bowl Winner Payout via PrizePicks Team Picks: 11.11x Yes | 1.03x No
The toughest part of this article each week is trying to figure out who will take the AFC.
For the most part, people have questioned whether they believe or trust the Broncos or Patriots and their second-year QBs — respectively Bo Nix and Drake Maybe — or if teams like the Ravens, Bills, and Chiefs were going to figure it out and make a run as the preseason odds predicted.
The one team few ever mentioned until now? The Jacksonville Jaguars.
If you didn’t think about the Jaguars before Week 16, you will now, as last Sunday, they went into Denver and crushed a 12-2 Broncos team on an 11-game win streak. Jacksonville has now won six in a row, have control of the AFC South, and are still alive for the AFC's No. 1 seed.
Jags QB Trevor Lawrence is putting up MVP numbers for the first time in his much-anticipated career, leading an offense that has scored 25+ points in eight straight games since its bye.
On the defensive side, Jacksonville has not allowed an RB over 75 yards all season, leading the NFL in rush defense at 87.2 rush yards per game.
The Jags have wins over the Texans, Panthers, Niners, Chargers, Colts, and Broncos this season and aren’t going away anytime soon. The 22x price is gone, but the 11.11x return is still good.
#2: Los Angeles Rams (11-4)
NFL Super Bowl Winner Payout via PrizePicks Team Picks: 4.76x Yes | 1.16x No
Let’s start with this: The Rams had no business losing December 18th's 38-37 classic in Seattle — but they also probably shouldn't have lost to the Eagles (Week 3, 33-26) or the Niners (Week 5, 26-24). The only game in which the Rams have been outplayed statistically was against the Panthers in Week 13, a 31-28 loss.
A win in the aforementioned game against Seattle would've pretty much wrapped up the NFC West and kept them in the driver’s seat for the No. 1 seed — now they need help. But what it doesn’t change is the opinion that they are one of the best teams in the league, even if they have to go on the road in the postseason.
The Rams have wins over both Seattle and San Francisco this year, along with Detroit, Houston, Jacksonville, Indianapolis, and Tampa Bay, all of whom are currently either in the playoff field or just outside. The four losses are by 6 points or less.
Los Angeles is the only team in the NFL to have their offense and defense in the top-five of both offensive and defensive DOVA (first on offense, third on defense). Their offense, led by QB and NFL MVP favorite Matthew Stafford and Offensive Player of Year candidate, WR Puka Nacua, leads the league in scoring (30.5 PPG), total yards (396.7 yards per game), and yards per play (6.2), while second in passing at 270.5 yards per game.
Stafford continues his MVP campaign, leading the NFL with 40 passing TDs — 8 more than any other player — and has only thrown 5 INTs on the season. His 112.1 passer rating also leads the NFL, furthering his MVP case.
On the defensive side, the Rams only allow 19.9 PPG, sixth-best in the NFL. They are tenth in the league, allowing 5.08 yards per play and 16th in total defense.
Head coach Sean McVay already has a Super Bowl ring and almost led the Rams to an upset of the eventual Super Bowl Champion Eagles in the Divisional Round last year. With 11 wins against teams at .500 or better, the Rams have established themselves near the top of this list, even with the loss last week.
#1: Seattle Seahawks
NFL Super Bowl Winner Payout via PrizePicks Team Picks: 5.88x Yes | 1.11x No
When you beat No. 1 and were in the top-three a week ago, you jump to No. 1.
While I do not think the Seahawks are the best team in the NFL, they are in the driver’s seat for top seed in the NFC and if the road is going to go through Seattle, they deserve to be No. 1 this week. And with the final two games against the potentially-playoff-bound Panthers and the toastly-hot 49ers, they could stay here or fall into the Wild Card round.
The Seahawks have the top defense per DOVA, lead the NFL in rush yards per play (3.7), and are second in scoring defense (18.6 PPG), pass yards per play (5.7) and total yards per play (4.68). While winning nine of the last 10 games, Seattle has allowed more than 25 points once, that was in the 36-30 win last week over the Rams.
Their offense is almost as good, scoring 25+ points in seven of the last nine games and 10 times overall. Seattle is third in the NFL, behind the Rams and Lions, at 29.5 points per game.
QB Sam Darnold continues the resurrection of his career, a year after being an MVP candidate for the Vikings last season. His 100.6 passer rating is seventh in the NFL and his 3,703 passing yards is fifth.
The Seahawks control their own destiny; if they win their last two games, the road to the Super Bowl goes through Seattle.
