No Christmas wish will save the playoff hopes of the New York Jets (3-11) and New Orleans Saints (4-10) this year, as both teams are well out of the race with three weeks remaining in the regular season.

Every game matters across fantasy football, though, even in a duel between two bottom feeders. Jets RB Breece Hall remains a notable fantasy piece for Sunday’s 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff (CBS) in the Caesars Superdome.

Hall is firmly in start or sit territory in Week 16. His projections at PrizePicks could give insight into how to handle this fantasy headache.

Week 16 RB Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em: Jets RB Breece Hall vs. Saints

On one of the NFL’s worst offenses, can Hall be trusted with the stakes higher than ever in fantasy football?

Why Start Breece Hall?

Hall (knee) popped up on the Jets' injury report, but he was a full participant at Wednesday’s practice.

The former Iowa State man racked up 18.1 fantasy points per game in full-PPR leagues from Weeks 8 to 13, followed by a measly 5.0 fantasy points per contest over the last two.

The good news? Hall’s snap share remains at 64.3%, paired with 13.0 rushing attempts per game. Each week provided limited opportunities to run the rock, as New York lost by a combined margin of -26.0 points.

Now, the Jets get to face a team on mostly equal terms. PrizePicks Team Picks have New York as only 3.5-point underdogs. Hall’s stat projections include 13.5 rushing attempts and 3.5 receptions, hinting at a healthy workload ahead.

Focusing on Week 16’s matchup, the Saints allow 130.6 rushing yards per game (26th) and 19.2 fantasy PPG against RBs (21st), per Pro Football Reference. The fourth-year tailback remains a big play waiting to happen, touting 15 breakaway runs (third) paired with a 109.3 explosive rating (11th), via PlayerProfiler.

Hall's receiving potential shouldn’t be overlooked either, proven by his 10.1 yards per reception (second). With New Orleans allowing 23.7 PPG (19th), he could finally have some TD upside, too.

Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Verdict: Promising Usage Equals a Hall Start

As always, this start or sit decision may boil down to your league size. In an eight- or 10-team league, Hall could be on the outside looking in. However, managers likely won’t have as much leeway in 12- or 14-team leagues.

Hall’s usage still appears sufficient to warrant a start. Negative game scripts have greatly impacted his fantasy output over the last two games, but Sunday’s tilt against the 4-10 Saints alludes to a more competitive contest.

New Orleans' rush defense is a favorable matchup, meaning Hall might produce an explosive fantasy outing against a stumbling opponent.

While the Jets have experienced major deficits since Week 14, Hall still logged 13 rushing attempts per outing. In a potential close matchup in New Orleans, could New York lean on its star tailback more than usual?
