Although the NFL playoffs are still a bit away, the fantasy football postseason is in full swing for many players. Whether you’re enjoying championship weekend or preparing for it soon, all managers must walk the tightrope of constructing a winning lineup.

A loaded Week 15 slate doesn’t make those roster decisions much easier. Sunday afternoon’s Packers vs. Broncos bout (4:25 p.m. ET on CBS), for example, contains a multitude of viable WR options. Two of them, Green Bay’s Christian Watson and Denver’s Courtland Sutton, could come in handy as starters in fantasy land.

That presents a big-time question: Is Watson or Sutton a better fantasy play? Let’s break down our Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em for NFL Week 15 and pit these WRs against one another.

Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em WRs, Week 15: Christian Watson or Courtland Sutton?

Let’s dive into our Week 15 Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em breakdown.

Why Start Christian Watson?

  • In seven games since returning from injury, Watson averages career-highs in receiving yards per game (64.6) and yards per target (11.9).
  • The last four games saw Watson average 6.5 targets and 66 yards while scoring a whopping 5 TDs.
  • Watson’s catch rate and success rate, both 65.8%, are also easily the best he’s posted in four seasons with the Packers.
  • Per SumerSports, among all WRs with 100+ opportunities in 2025, Watson’s 2.47 yards per route run rank sixth in the sport. Those figures are dominant regardless of facing zone (2.50) or man (2.60) coverage.
  • From Weeks 8-14, Watson was fantasy WR6 thanks to his 25 catches for 452 yards and 6 TDs.

Why Start Courtland Sutton?

  • Sutton’s 13.8 yards per reception is his highest full-season mark since 2019’s 15.4-yard average.
  • A staggering 143 WRs have recorded at least 100 routes this year. Sutton ranks sixth with 79.08 total EPA accumulated.
  • Entering Week 15, Sutton still holds a lead over second-place Troy Franklin for target share for Broncos WRs (20.18% to 19.73%). In Green Bay, Watson (18.91%) narrowly trails Romeo Doubs (20%).
  • Sutton’s potential assignment for Sunday, CB Carrington Valentine, surrenders an ugly 106.4 passer rating when targeted in coverage.
  • Per Pro Football Focus, Sutton is one of 26 WRs with 15+ deep targets. He’s tied for fifth in receptions on such passes with 9.

Week 15 Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Verdict: Start Courtland Sutton

First and foremost, Watson deserves credit for what he’s done. In less than half a season, he’s strung together plenty of impressive performances while still finding his rhythm after a serious injury. That’s hard to do, thus building him a strong case in this hypothetical.

With that said, the Packers star is falling victim to circumstance. The Broncos’ vaunted defense has allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to WRs this season. It also ranks seventh in EPA/play and third in yards per drive.

Sutton may not have the short-term ceiling of Watson, but he has an easier Week 15 matchup on paper. The Packers’ defense ranks 18th in EPA/dropback, and the aforementioned lineups against Valentine imply a clear talent gap on one side.

All of that makes Sutton the potentially wiser pick in this Week 15 Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em.
