Indianapolis Colts TE Tyler Warren suffered a groin injury before the team’s Week 6 game against the Tennessee Titans and ultimately was inactive. As a result, Warren’s status for Week 7 has also been up in the air.

The Colts hit the road to take on the Minnesota Vikings at 1 p.m. ET on CBS on Sunday, October 25. What’s Warren’s outlook for playing in this pivotal contest?

Below, we’ll break down the latest Tyler Warren injury update, his practice status, and how his injury could impact Week 7 fantasy football and Colts vs. Vikings picks for PrizePicks.

Tyler Warren Injury Update: Will Warren Play This Week vs. Vikings?

On Friday, the Colts announced that Warren has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Vikings. He didn’t practice Wednesday or Thursday leading up to the weekend contest.

Warren originally injured his groin in last Friday’s practice and missed Week 6 game vs. the Titans after being questionable all weekend. Head coach Shane Steichen had stated that Warren was “progressing well” on Wednesday.

The Colts’ young star TE didn’t miss a single game during his 2025 rookie campaign.

If Warren misses Sunday’s Week 7 game, how does that affect fantasy football and Colts player projections on PrizePicks?

Colts Fantasy Football Outlook With Warren Out

Warren had an impressive rookie campaign in 2025 but has gotten off to a slow start in 2026. In his second season, Warren was projected to be one of the better TE options for fantasy football managers.

He had a TE4 average draft position (ADP) and was selected early in the fifth round in most PPR drafts, according to FantasyPros.

In five games in 2026, Warren has caught a team-high 30 passes for 213 yards (7.1 yards per reception) and 2 TDs. The Penn State product turned in his best performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5, hauling in 9 passes for 83 yards in a 34-22 Colts loss.

Warren has been one of the most-used TEs, receiving a 21.7% target share (fourth among TEs), per PlayerProfiler. The second-year man has also tallied 14.0 fantasy points per contest, the sixth-highest at his position.

With Warren out, the Colts could look to WR Josh Downs to shoulder more pass-catching opportunities. Downs has logged 24 receptions for a team-high 289 yards (12.0 YPC) but has yet to find the end zone.

Downs caught 4 of his 8 targets for 40 yards in last week’s 26-20 loss to the Titans.

The Colts will face an elite Vikings defense in Week 7, which has allowed the fewest PPG (12.8) and the second-fewest total yards per game (259.8). According to RBSDM, Minnesota has also ceded a league-best -0.218 dropback EPA/play and a 34.2% dropback success rate.

Meanwhile, the Colts’ offense has struggled through the air with QB Daniel Jones this year, posting a -0.114 dropback EPA/play and averaging 199.8 passing YPG (22nd). Indy has also registered just a 42.3% dropback success rate, ranking 24th.

Tyler Warren continues to deal with a groin injury that he suffered in practice last week and will miss Sunday’s game against the Vikings. Without him, WR Josh Downs could receive a large number of targets again in Week 7 but will face a very strong Minnesota pass defense.
