Top NBA Predictions, Picks for Tuesday, January 13

Here are the top NBA predictions and picks for the Tuesday, January 13, seven-game slate on PrizePicks Team Picks, where you can predict NBA winners, spreads, and over/unders.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Prediction, Pick

Here's our top Spurs vs. Thunder prediction for Tuesday, January 13.

Spurs vs. Thunder Spread, Over/Under, Time

  • Time: 8 p.m. ET
  • Spread: Thunder -9.5 (2x payout on PrizePicks Team Picks)
  • Over/Under: 228.5 (1.75x payout on Over)

Spurs vs. Thunder Prediction on Spread

While the Thunder boast a league-best 33-7 record, the market may have over-adjusted to that and their three-game win streak, overlooking San Antonio’s recent dominance over Oklahoma City.

In key underdog roles and high-level Western Conference spots, the Spurs have overachieved:

  • San Antonio has won nine of 13 contests (69.2%) where they are the underdog.
  • The Spurs have recently dominated the Thunder: They’ve won and covered the spread as an underdog in each of their last three matchups with an 9.2-point average margin of victory.
  • The Thunder are 0-5 ATS in their last five games as the favorite (0-3 at home).

Oklahoma City’s offense has sputtered from the perimeter despite its current winning streak, hitting just 25% from three over its last four contests. That slump is a critical vulnerability against a San Antonio defense that has stifled the Thunder’s perimeter shooting, holding them to 28.8% on 3-pointers in those three losses.

With SF Devin Vassell sidelined, the market expects a drop-off, yet the Spurs’ defensive rating actually improves by 4.2 points without him this season.

The Spurs have already proven they can win outright in this building, making the 9.5 point spread an appealing option tonight.

Payouts from Team Picks are live as of publishing, but are subject to change.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Milwaukee Bucks Prediction, Pick

Here's our top Timberwolves vs. Bucks prediction for Tuesday, January 13.

Timberwolves vs. Bucks Spread, Over/Under, Time

  • Time: 8 p.m. ET
  • Spread: Bucks -2.5 (1.78x payout on PrizePicks Team Picks)
  • Over/Under: 228.5 (1.85x payout on Over)

Timberwolves vs. Bucks Prediction on Spread

The depleted Timberwolves roster creates a massive opportunity for the Bucks, with SG Anthony Edwards (28.9 PPG) and C Rudy Gobert (11.4 RPG, 1.6 BLK) both sidelined.

The Bucks have struggled to cover as home favorites, going just 4-5 against the spread (ATS), but this matchup is different with Minnesota missing key pieces:

  • Milwaukee is 4-1 ATS in the last five games of this head-to-head matchup against Minnesota.
  • Minnesota is 3-5 ATS as an underdog this season (2-3 ATS as a road underdog).
  • The Timberwolves are 13-17 ATS since Nov. 1 entering Tuesday’s contest against the Bucks.

Antetokounmpo averages 29.9 points on 61.5% shooting at home, along with 9.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists, and without Gobert patrolling the rim, Minnesota has no viable answer inside.

Minnesota PF Julius Randle (22.0 PPG, 7.1 RPG), SF Jaden McDaniels (14.7 PPG), and PG Donte DiVicenzo (13.4 PPG) will shoulder an enormous offensive burden. Nut without Edwards' shot creation, the Timberwolves lack the firepower to keep this close.

Given Antetokounmpo’s ability to dominate the paint against a Gobert-less front line, the Bucks have a leg up in this matchup. The absence of Edwards and Gobert removes more than 40 PPG and much of Minnesota’s defensive identity, creating a talent gap that even C Naz Reid’s rim protection (6.3 RPG, 0.9 BLK) can’t overcome.

Phoenix Suns vs. Miami Heat Prediction, Pick

Here's our top Suns vs. Heat prediction for Tuesday, January 13.

Suns vs. Heat Spread, Over/Under, Time

  • Time: 8 p.m. ET
  • Spread: Suns -1.5 (2x payout on PrizePicks Team Picks)
  • Over/Under: 230.5 (1.81x payout on Over)

Suns vs. Bucks Prediction on Over/Under

The Heat lead the NBA in pace at 108.2 possessions per game (110.4 over their last three), while the Suns enter Tuesday on a three-game win streak, averaging 113.7 PPG.

Miami and Phoenix have averaged a combined 234.1 PPG this season. The Heat have topped 230.5 points in 24 of their 39 games (61.5%), while the Suns have done so in 17-of-39 contests (43.6%).

The total has gone over in the last two head-to-head meetings between these teams, and Miami games have gone over in four of their last eight contests.

Phoenix is 8-2 straight up with a 9-1 ATS record over their last 10 games, averaging 231.3 total points per game during that stretch.

The most compelling trend for the over/under is Miami’s pace-driven offense, which consistently forces opponents to play quicker than usual. The Heat also rank sixth in scoring at 119.4 PPG, while Phoenix allows 111.8 points per game on the road.

With Miami desperate to snap a three-game losing streak, that profile sets up an uptempo shootout, especially asSG Tyler Herro settles back into a starting role after his injury.
