Texans vs. Seahawks Prediction, Monday Night Football Picks Tonight

AP Photo/Tony Gutierrez

After losing the first three games of the season, the Texans (2-3) are on the verge of winning their third straight. They have a tough road as they head to Lumen Field in Seattle to take on the Seahawks (4-2) on Monday Night Football tonight.

In what profiles as a defensive forward matchup, this game sets up to be competitive, with the Texans desperately needing a road win.

We’ll break down our Texans vs. Seahawks prediction and Monday Night Football picks on PrizePicks tonight, with the matchup set to kick off at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN, following the early game between the Bucs vs. Lions in a MNF doubleheader.

Texans vs. Seahawks Prediction, Monday Night Football Preview

There was a major overhaul in Seattle with the team trading away QB Geno Smith to the Raiders, WR DK Metcalf to the Steelers, and not re-signing WR Tyler Lockett.

With former Vikings QB Sam Darnold behind center and WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba as the leading receiver, they have started the season off well at 4-2 and match the Rams in the loss column.

The Texans looked lost in the first three games of the season, especially on offense. The offense has surged over the last two games, scoring 70 total points. Those games were against the Ravens and Titans, who are a combined 2-11 and bottom five in points allowed, so we’ll see how they play against better competition.

Seattle Seahawks Preview vs.  Texans

  • The Seahawks have the second most efficient passing offense in the NFL, with 0.30 expected points added per dropback
  • The Seahawks average depth of target is highest in the NLF at 9.73 yards.
  • WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba came into Week 7 leading the league with 696 receiving yards.
  • The last time a Seahawk led the NFL in that category was in 1985 with Steve Largent.
  • In 2024, Seattle had an excellent scoring defense, finishing 13th in points allowed per game (21.6); they’re even better this year at sixth in that category (19.5).
  • The Seahawks secondary will finally be healthy for this matchup, as CB Devon Witherspoon and FS Julian Live, plus nickel corner Riq Woolen are all expected to play.

Houston Texans Preview vs. Seahawks

  • While the Texans offense had a slow start, the defense has been stellar, and is allowing the fewest points per game (12.2).
  • However, the Texans offense has shown signs of life; after not scoring 20 points. in the first three weeks, they scored 26 and 44 vs. the Titans and Ravens before their Week 7 bye.
  • The Texans have not established a featured running back in the absence of Joe Mixon.
  • Over the last two games, RBs Nick Chubb and Woody Marks have each led the position in snaps once. Both have 1 TD each on the season.
