Suns Injury Update: Will Allen and Williams Play Today vs. Thunder?
According to the NBA injury report, Grayson Allen is questionable due to a hamstring strain, while left foot soreness has tabbed Mark Williams as questionable.
Allen sustained his injury on April 10, playing for about 12.5 minutes in the contest. He then missed the regular-season finale and both play-in games. Allen was available on April 17 vs. the Warriors, but Phoenix elected not to play its 3-point specialist.
Meanwhile, Williams missed 15 consecutive games due to the same foot injury from March 5 to March 31. He reaggravated it on April 14 in the Play-In Tournament against the Trail Blazers, and he sat out for the fourth quarter. Williams was then ruled out for April 17’s showdown against the Warriors.
Considering the Thunder are 15.5-point favorites for Game 1, the Suns will likely need all hands on deck. With Allen active on April 17, he may have a good chance of suiting up today, but Williams’ outlook could be more bleak.
If Allen is active, you can pick More or Less for Grayson Allen’s 8.5 points projection today on PrizePicks. Williams also carries an 8-point projection for Game 1 on PrizePicks.
What Players to Target on PrizePicks if Allen and Williams Are Out?
Allen ranks third on Phoenix with 28.8 minutes per game while sitting fourth with 16.5 PPG. He was fully active alongside SG Jalen Green for 15 games from February 19 to April 8. In this split, Allen’s workload slightly fell to 26.3 minutes and 15.8 points per game.
Williams averages only 11.7 PPG, but the Suns would likely miss his team-leading 8.0 RPG. In his most recent absence, F Oso Ighodaro logged 26 minutes, 10 points, and 6 rebounds.
G Jordan Goodwin recorded 31.5 minutes and 15.5 points per game in the Play-In Tournament without Allen — elevated from 22.5 minutes and 8.7 points per contest on the season.
When Allen and Williams are both off the court, PG Collin Gillespie (+2.4%), G Dillon Brooks (+2.3%), and Jordan Goodwin (+2.1%) see notable increases in usage rate, per FantasyLabs. However, Gillespie posted only 18.5 minutes per game in Allen’s last two absences, dropping from 28.5 for the season.
Here are the Suns players who may benefit most on PrizePicks if Allen and/or Williams are out — and their stat projections for Sunday.
- G Dillon Brooks — 15.5 Points / 21 Pts+Rebs+Asts / 1.5 3-pointers Made
- G Jordan Goodwin — 8.5 Points / 16.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts / 22.5 Fantasy Score
According to Dunks & Threes, the Thunder allow a 44.0% 3-point shot distribution (25th). As discussed in our best NBA playoffs predictions for Sunday, the Suns could expose this weakness with 14.7 made triples per game (fifth).
Brooks made 5 of 12 of his 3-point shots (41.7%) in the Play-In Tournament. If Williams is the only player off the court, Brooks’ usage rate still rises by +2.1% (the second-highest increase in this split).
