The Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers meet today at 4:25 p.m ET on FOX for the second time this season in a rematch of their Week 5 showdown, in which a very shorthanded 49ers squad gutted it out to pull away with a 26-23 win over their division rivals.
49ers QB Brock Purdy is reportedly “getting closer” to healthy status and returning to the gridiron, but it'll be QB Mac Jones drawing the start once again in this game. Jones played very well and threw for over 340 yards in the first Rams game despite his top WRs being Kendrick Bourne and Demarcus Robinson.
The Rams have played very well since that loss, winning three straight and allowing a total of 20 points in that stretch. They'll aim to even up the series and extend their NFC West lead here.
Check out our Rams vs. 49ers predictions, NFL Week 10 pick, and the key stats and PrizePicks projections to know ahead of kickoff.
Rams vs. 49ers Preview, Week 10 Prediction
In this top-tier matchup between bitter rivals, let’s preview each team and see how they stack up against one another.
Los Angeles Rams Preview vs. 49ers
As noted above, the Rams have played very well in their last three games. WR Puka Nacua returned after missing one game and while he got banged up once again, injuring his ribs, the team does not believe it’s serious. He's good to go for this game.
QB Matthew Stafford has been playing very well despite entering the year with a back injury. He's performing at an MVP level with 2,147 passing yards and 21 TDs to only 2 INTs. The addition of WR Davante Adams to the WR room has paid massive dividends so far, and Stafford has looked extremely sharp.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Rams remain one of the NFL’s healthiest units. Their most daunting objective will undoubtedly be slowing down RB Christian McCaffrey, who is once again one of the league’s most unstoppable forces who had nearly 140 total yards when the two teams last met.
San Francisco 49ers Preview vs. Rams
While the Rams have been one of the league’s most healthy squads, you cannot at all say the same thing about the 49ers. They've been the most-injured team in the NFL.
The injuries are particularly on the defensive side of the ball, where six starters have landed on injured reserve, but San Francisco has had plenty of offensive ailments as well, ranging from TE George Kittle to Purdy himself.
Despite that, the 49ers have persevered to a 6-3 record and currently sit right behind the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West. With head coach Kyle Shanahan at the helm, it’s tough to ever count out this team.
Injuries do take their toll eventually, so keep an eye on things with the Bay Area squad.
Rams vs. 49ers Same-Game Picks for PrizePicks
Here are two Rams vs. 49ers same-game player picks for Week 10, spotlighting key projections to watch for Davante Adams and Christian McCaffrey.
You can choose More or Less on these projections on PrizePicks — along with plenty of others — for a chance to win real money this NFL season.
Rams WR Davante Adams Projection vs. 49ers: 14 Fantasy Score
Adams has been one of the sharpest pickups of the 2025 NFL season, in this writer's eyes. He has drastically increased the output of the Rams' passing attack, a unit that a year ago only ranked 13th in passing yards and now ranks 1st so far in 2025, per ESPN.
The focus will likely be on Nacua for the 49ers, which may once again allow Adams to have some softer coverage working downfield. In the red zone, Adams has continued to show dominance like he has his entire career.
Given that the 49ers rank as the 10th-worst team in DVOA given up to the WR2 position, per FTN, we could infer that Adams is in position for a good shot to have a good week.
49ers RB Christian McCaffrey Projection vs. Rams: 6 Receptions
What McCaffrey is doing in the receiving column of the statistics pages is insane. He currently has the second-most receptions among all pass-catchers with 61.
Though the Rams are one of the most stringent defensive units against RBs, McCaffrey is not your average player.
McCaffrey has notched at least 6 receptions in seven of nine games and may once again be a featured option in the passing game. That could especially be the case as WR Ricky Pearsall is expected to miss this game as well.
With that in mind, the door is open for another high-volume McCaffrey game in Week 10.
