Could this be the bout of the college football season thus far? Saturday’s meeting between No. 5 Ole Miss and No. 9 Georgia (3:30 p.m. ET on ABC) brings that level of buzz in a clash of two 2025 SEC powerhouses.

Here, we’ll cover an Ole Miss vs. Georgia prediction and list some top picks for the matchup.

Enhance your weekend CFB fun with PrizePicks’ real-money CFB game. Ole Miss vs. Georgia picks for QB Trinidad Chambliss headline the group.

Ole Miss vs. Georgia Prediction, Preview for Week 8

Saturday marks the second gathering of these two historic programs in a full year. In Week 11 of last season, Ole Miss pulled off a stunning 28-10 upset over Georgia.

Things look quite a bit different this time around, especially at the QB spot. Carson Beck left Athens for Miami, and Jaxson Dart is making plays in the NFL for the New York Giants.

Ole Miss Rebels Preview

  • Year number 6 with head coach Lane Kiffin leading the way is off to a roaring start. Ole Miss’ 6-0 start is its best since 2022.
  • Despite losing QB Austin Simmons to injury, the Rebels haven’t skipped a beat. Trinidad Chambliss has led close triumphs against Arkansas (41-35), LSU (24-19) and Washington State (24-21).
  • Ole Miss butters its bread on offense. They’re 26th in EPA/play, per Game on Paper, including sparkling rankings through the air (23rd) and on the ground (42nd).
  • One potential shortcoming for Kiffin’s crew is the field position battle. They rank 107th in net placement through six games.

Georgia Bulldogs Preview

  • After winning back-to-back national championships, Georgia declined in 2023 (13-1, Orange Bowl win) and 2024 (11-3, Sugar Bowl loss).
  • The Bulldogs have been on both sides of narrow SEC outcomes, winning 44-41 in Week 3’s overtime thriller against Tennessee but then falling 24-21 to Alabama in Week 5.
  • No SEC program boasts more points scored in conference play than UGA’s 120 this year.
  • A suffocating run defense (sixth in EPA/play, 99th percentile rush explosiveness) routinely limits Georgia’s opponents.

Ole Miss vs. Georgia Picks for CFB DFS & PrizePicks

There are plenty of Ole Miss vs. Georgia picks to choose from. Week 8’s PrizePicks player projections include QBs Trinidad Chambliss and Gunner Stockton, as well as RB Kewan Lacy.

Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss Projection: 288.5 Pass+Rush Yards

  • Simmons continues to recover from his ankle injury, but it’s becoming increasingly clear that Chambliss could get the nod again on Saturday.
  • The Ferris State transfer leads the SEC in yards per attempt (9.9) and yards per completion (15.1).
  • Georgia ranks in the 95th percentile in explosive plays allowed, presenting an interesting tendency collision.
  • According to Game on Paper, Chambliss’ 0.25 EPA/dropback ranks 26th out of 139 qualified QBs.
  • Chambliss threw for 300-plus yards in three of his last four outings and averaged 65 rushing yards a week during that span.

Ole Miss RB Kewan Lacy Projection: 72.5 Rush Yards

  • Much of Kewan Lacy’s jaw-dropping production is volume-based. He leads the conference in rush attempts (126) and plays from scrimmage (139).
  • Building on that, despite being 16th in yards, Lacy is 116th out of 277 ball carriers in success rate.
  • In Ole Miss’ win over Wazzu last weekend, Lacy forced a whopping 14 missed tackles, per Pro Football Focus
  • Lacy averages 97.8 rushing yards per game and is coming off his second-best showing of the year — a 142-yard performance against Washington State.

Georgia QB Gunner Stockton Projection: 218.5 Pass Yards

  • Stockton averaged 181 passing yards in his last three games but increased his total in each week, going from 130 to 196 to 217.
  • Georgia’s star junior is tied for 15th in dropback success rate at 50%.
  • Some of that efficiency could stem from Stockton’s lack of aggressiveness. Per PFF, among 134 QBs with 100 or more dropbacks, his 6.8-yard average depth of target is 124th.
  • The Rebels’ pass defense is 23rd in EPA/play yielded, albeit tied for 69th in pass plays per game faced.
