Top Week 5 TD Scorer Predictions
There are several enticing Week 5 TD scorer predictions, headlined by QB Josh Allen and Alvin Kamara. Let’s dive into six TD picks for PrizePicks’ NFL Free2Play $1M jackpot game.
Panthers vs. Dolphins TD Scorer Prediction: 1 p.m. ET
Dolphins RB De’Von Achane
- Since getting past an August calf injury, De’Von Achane has hit the ground running this season.
- The 2023 third-round pick’s 97.3 scrimmage yards per game are a career-high.
- Achane’s TD production in a short time is historically good. He’s one of three RBs since 1970 to record at least 15 rushing TDs and 10 receiving TDs in his first 32 games.
- After a hot first couple of weeks, the Panthers’ defense is sliding. It surrendered 3 rushing TDs to the Patriots in Week 4, including a pair to RBs.
- Sunday marks Achane’s first game against an NFC South club, but in eight career outings versus NFC opponents, he has 6 TDs.
Saints vs. Giants TD Scorer Prediction: 1 p.m. ET
Saints RB Alvin Kamara
- A poor Week 3 showing against the Seahawks’ feisty defense all but defines Alvin Kamara’s slow start to the year. Outside of that contest, he’s averaging 4.55 yards per attempt.
- Kamara is notoriously dominant against the NFC (64 TDs in 86 games) and NFC West (12 TDs in 16 games).
- This includes 3 TDs in four games versus the G-Men.
- The Giants' defense is 31st in opposing rush yards per attempt and 29th in yards allowed. They’re dead last in EPA/rush, per SumerSports.
Cardinals vs. Titans TD Scorer Prediction: 4:05 p.m. ET
Titans WR Elic Ayomanor
- The Titans’ fourth-round pick is thriving, racking up 2 TDs in his last three games.
- Ayomanor’s been a threat at all areas of the field. His targets are well-distributed between short range (43.5% 0-9 yards), medium (30.4% 10-19) and deep (26.1% 20-plus), per Pro Football Focus.
- There’s nothing special about the Cardinals defense. It holds low ranks in passing EPA (21st) and passing success rate (28th).
- With Calvin Ridley (knee/elbow) banged up, Ayomanor might receive a hefty workload again.
Bengals vs. Lions TD Scorer Prediction: 4:25 p.m. ET
Lions TE Sam LaPorta
- In four games this season, Sam LaPorta has 16 receptions without a TD. The last time he had four consecutive scoreless games was, coincidentally, Weeks 1-4 of last year.
- Despite that, LaPorta still ranks third on the Lions in receptions and yards. Perhaps his spike in slot percentage (26.7 in 2024 to 50 in 2025) has something to do with his current production.
- The Bengals’ defense has yielded the fifth-most catches (27) and 10th-most yards (244) to opposing TEs.
- LaPorta has scored a TD in over half of his career games versus the AFC (6 in 11).
Bills vs. Patriots TD Scorer Prediction: Sunday Night Football
Bills QB Josh Allen
- The Patriots have allowed opponents to score on 87.5% of red zone trips. That’s 31st in the NFL, behind the Colts (88.9%).
- Allen has 13 more total TDs than any QB in his first eight seasons. With a pair of rushing TDs on Sunday night, he can tie Cam Newton (77) for the most such TDs by a QB, including playoffs, ever.
- The reigning MVP’s 5 rushing TDs against the Patriots are tied for his second-most against any NFL team.
- With New England’s star DT Milton Williams nursing an ankle injury, that might make life easier for Buffalo’s interior run game.
Jaguars vs. Chiefs TD Scorer Prediction: Monday Night Football
Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt
- Kareem Hunt remains the preferred RB in the Chiefs’ backfield. He has 14 more carries than Isiah Pacheco, as well as five more first downs gained (11 to 6).
- That’s emphasized even more in the red zone. Per FantasyPros, Hunt receives 60% of K.C.’s rush attempts there, 16th out of 79 players.
- The stout Jaguars defense is more susceptible to the run (11th in EPA) than the pass (third).
- Teams aren’t afraid to run on Jacksonville; their opposing pass rate over expected of 1.3% is 26th in the sport.
