Giants vs. Dolphins Prediction on Winner for NFL Preseason – Saturday, August 22
As mentioned, the Giants and Dolphins could roll out starters on Saturday evening. Considering the two franchises faced off in joint practices this week, it would be a slight surprise.
New York has yet to officially reveal its plans, but reports have emerged suggesting QB Jaxson Dart could make another brief appearance today.
According to Pro Football Focus, Dart took 14 snaps vs. the Vikings last week. Another limited outing would likely be ahead, but that means most of the Giants’ first-string players should get some playing time.
New York WR Malik Nabers will likely remain out as he targets Week 1 for his return from an ACL injury. So far, Nabers continues to turn heads with his fluid drills during training camp.
Elsewhere, first-round rookie OT Francis Mauigoa left practice this week, but it was labeled as not serious and likely heat-related. Saturday should give another look at the fifth overall selection, LB Arvell Reese—who took 12 snaps and posted an 88.2 player grade in his preseason debut a week ago.
For the Dolphins, they played starters vs. the Commanders in NFL preseason Week 1, including QB Malik Willis taking 14 snaps and logging a 90.6 PFF pass grade. However, Miami was still dismantled 20-7 against Washington.
Regardless of the Fins’ plans to face starters, they could have a tall task ahead against the Giants. Head coach John Harbaugh has a history of dominating the preseason, leading the Ravens to an 11-4 record from 2021 to 2025.
Harbaugh’s track record, paired with Dart likely taking some snaps, contributes to the Giants being favored by 3.5 points for today’s bout. Here’s a full look at payouts for Saturday’s NFL preseason game.

Giants vs. Dolphins Picks, Player Stats for NFL Preseason on PrizePicks: 8/22/26
Here is our top Giants vs. Dolphins pick to target on Saturday, August 22. Today’s NFL preseason pick for PrizePicks includes WR Odell Beckham Jr.
Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. vs. Dolphins: 11.5 Receiving Yards
- Odell Beckham Jr. continues his quest to earn a roster spot on the Giants, and he could end another solid week with a strong showing in today’s preseason game.
- Last week, Beckham played a healthy 16 snaps, including 11 pass snaps. He turned that opportunity into 3 targets, 2 receptions, and 6 receiving yards.
- During the 2025 season, the Dolphins yielded 7.6 yards per passing attempt (27th) and 0.13 expected points added (EPA) per passing play (26th), per Sumer Sports.
- Miami’s weak secondary could help OBJ—especially against backups—but his yards per reception plummeted to 6.1 the last time we saw him in regular-season action. At 33, Beckham is simply not generating big plays as he did during his heyday.
- Furthermore, he should get run with QBs Jameis Winston and Brandon Allen today. If it’s primarily Allen, that harms OBJ considering Allen’s abysmal 24.8 PFF pass grade from last week.
Add Odell Beckham Jr. to your PrizePicks Lineup now.

Chiefs vs. Buccaneers Prediction on Winner for NFL Preseason – Saturday, August 22
On Friday, Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles confirmed starters will play in Saturday’s preseason contest against the Chiefs. That includes QB Baker Mayfield, who sat out last week and was not featured during the 2025 preseason.
However, Tampa Bay is not expected to be at full strength when its starters take the field for limited snaps.
WR Emeka Egbuka continues to battle a toe injury, but the Bucs seem optimistic about the second-year wideout suiting up for Week 1. With that said, it’s unlikely Tampa Bay would rush Egbuka’s return during the preseason.
The wide receiver room could be rather thin today, as WR Jalen McMillan (knee) and WR Tez Johnson (groin) have battled setbacks throughout the offseason. That should continue to open up opportunities for third-round rookie WR Ted Hurst III and more.
Buccaneers OT Tristan Wirfs previously suffered a hamstring injury in the offseason. While he’s returned to action, Tampa Bay may look to keep its star tackle inactive during the preseason.
Even with injuries, the Bucs should have a major advantage over the Chiefs in the early going. On Thursday, Kansas City head coach Andy Reid stated QB Patrick Mahomes will not play on Saturday, while QB Justin Fields is expected to play into the second quarter.
Additionally, the Chiefs will be without multiple starters on the offensive line, including G Trey Smith and OT Josh Simmons.
Considering the Buccaneers’ potential advantage early in the game, PrizePicks Team Picks tab Tampa Bay as 4.5-point favorites, paired with a 1.4x payout to win. Here’s a full look at the Chiefs vs. Buccaneers payouts.

Chiefs vs. Buccaneers Picks, Player Stats for NFL Preseason on PrizePicks: 8/22/26
Check out our top Chiefs vs. Buccaneers pick to target, featuring WR Cyrus Allen and QB Baker Mayfield.
Chiefs WR Cyrus Allen vs. Buccaneers: 21.5 Receiving Yards
- We mentioned Buccaneers rookie WR Ted Hurst III turning some heads, but don’t sleep on Chiefs WR Cyrus Allen.
- The fifth-round rookie is currently listed as a second-string wideout on the unofficial depth chart, suggesting a large workload ahead.
- That was the case in last week’s preseason game vs. the Rams, with the rookie from Cincinnati logging 36 snaps and 25 pass snaps.
- Allen received a healthy 5 targets, leading to 2 receptions for 20 receiving yards.
- Justin Fields is expected to play for nearly an entire half tonight, and he posted 10.3 yards per passing attempt over 4 passing attempts last week.
- Allen finished his four-year collegiate career with 16.2 yards per reception, displaying his ability to generate big plays.
Add Cyrus Allen to your PrizePicks Lineup now.
Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield vs. Chiefs: 27.5 Pass Yards
- Baker Mayfield hasn’t played in a preseason game since 2024, when he completed 3 passes for 54 passing yards over 7 snaps.
- Another limited role likely awaits—especially when OT Tristan Wirfs, protecting his blindside, could be out. Keep in mind, Mayfield will likely face the Chiefs’ defensive starters, meaning the pass rush can surely get home.
- Anything more than one series would be a surprise for Mayfield, limiting his chance to surpass this projection.
- However, the veteran QB has the chance to pick on a susceptible secondary. Chiefs CB L’Jarius Sneed has battled a knee injury throughout training camp, and rookie CB Mansoor Delane has been limited at camp and is still getting his feet wet with limited experience.
Add Baker Mayfield to your PrizePicks Lineup now.
