Miami vs. Ole Miss Prediction, Picks for Fiesta Bowl

Miami (12-2) started the season 5-0, defeating three ranked teams, including sixth-ranked Notre Dame, which, according to the CFP Selection Committee, was one of the factors that contributed to the CFP bid.

Miami dropped two of the next three games, to Louisville and SMU, before winning the final four regular season games, outscoring their opponents 151-41. In the two CFP games, Miami topped Texas A&M and Ohio State 34-17.

Ole Miss (13-1) set a school record for wins in a season, avenging its only loss of the campaign in the Sugar Bowl win over Georgia. The Rebels lost in Athens earlier in the season by 8 points.

They finished in a four-way tie at 7-1 in the SEC, but lost the tie-breaker to play in the SEC title game.

Coach Lane Kiffin left for LSU after the regular season finale against rival Mississippi State and was replaced by former cefensive coordinator and new head coach Pete Golding for the playoff. Golding is now 2-0.

The Miami-Ole Miss semifinal Fiesta Bowl game kicks off Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. The winner moves on to play the winner of Oregon-Indiana (Peach Bowl) in the CFP National Championship in Miami on January 19th.
