Second-ranked Miami hosts ACC rival Louisville in a matchup of two teams who many predicted to be in the ACC race all season. The undefeated Hurricanes and one-loss Cardinals, two of the top five teams in the ACC preseason poll, gave us a classic 52-45 game last season. They meet on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.

We'll give you our Louisville vs. Miami prediction and CFB picks for PrizePicks, including Beck and Moss player picks for PrizePicks real money college football game.

Miami, with its highest AP ranking in more than two decades, brings a 5-0 record into the Friday night matchup, led by Heisman-candidate and Georgia transfer Carson Beck, and WR Malachi Toney. Beck enters the game 13th in the nation in passer efficiency and is at or near the top of Heisman ballots across the CFB landscape.

Louisville enters with a 4-1 record and is led by the 11th-ranked defense and QB Miller Moss, who has had an up and down start to the season with 10 total TDs and 4 INTs.

Louisville vs. Miami Prediction, Friday CFB Picks

Louisville and Miami meet for the third consecutive year and for the fifth time in the last seven. Each of the last two matchups were high-scoring affairs decided by one score, with Miami winning last season, 52-45, and the Cardinals getting the dub in 2023, 38-31. The teams have met eight times since Miami joined the ACC, with each team winning four times.

The winner of this matchup will earn their second ACC win of the season as the Hurricanes are 1-0 and Louisville is 1-1. Entering Week 8 of the CFB season, Georgia Tech, Virginia, and Duke sit atop the ACC standings with 3-0 conference records.

Both teams are coming off byes and will play ACC games the rest of the way, except for Louisville's season finale vs. rival Kentucky.

Louisville Cardinals Preview

The Louisville Cardinals, often slated to finish in the middle of the ACC, started the season with three double-digit wins before needing to rally from a 17-0 deficit to defeat Pittsburgh in their ACC opener. The Cardinals then lost in OT to Virginia, their first loss of the 2025 campaign. In both ACC games, Louisville fell behind by double-digits before a second-half rally.

Louisville enters Week 8 with the 12th-best defense in the country, holding opponents to 262.0 yards per game and fifth in defensive EPA/play, which could cause trouble for Miami’s passing game.

The problem for Louisville has been on offense, where its rushing game ranks 112th in the country, with 115 rush yards per game. On the positive side, the passing offense is 26th in the country, averaging 267.0 yards per game.

Miami Hurricanes Preview

The Miami Hurricanes are 5-0 for the second consecutive season. Last year, Miami started off 9-0, rising to No. 4 in the country, before losing three of its last four games and missing the College Football Playoff.

Miami swept its out of conference schedule to begin this season, beating three in-state teams and Notre Dame, before sweeping the state of Florida with a win over rival FSU to open ACC play two weeks ago.

The Canes enter with one of the top defenses in the country. They are ninth in scoring defense, allowing 13.6 points per game, 16th in total defense (260.6 yards per game), 14th in rush defense (87.4 rush yards per game), and 15th in EPA/play allowed.

Of the 68 total points the Hurricanes have allowed this season, 42 have been in the fourth quarter with the game mostly decided. Miami has allowed only 26 points total in the first three quarters of the five games.

This is the second of eight straight ACC games to finish the season for Miami. The Canes are looking for their second ever berth in the ACC title game.
