Can the Jayhawks bring home a win in the reignition of the Kansas-Missouri Border War?
Kansas Jayhawks Preview
The Jayhawks haven’t been tested through two games, blowing out Fresno State and Wagner by a combined score of 77-14. KU posted 641 yards in last Saturday’s 46-7 rout of Wagner, including 4 TD passes from QB Jalon Daniels.
KU lost five of its six road games last season, with the lone victory coming against BYU in November. A win here would put the Jayhawks on solid footing in a what looks to be a weak Big 12 conference.

Daniels has completed 80% of his pass attempts in the first two wins this year against. The senior signal caller had a passing projection of 199.5 yards in the season opener against Fresno State, but fell short with 176 yards.
In last week’s rout of Wagner, Daniels finished with 280 passing yards, which tied his highest output of last season — that coming in Kansas' finale against Baylor.
Daniels struggled last season with a 57% completion rate, with more than 200 yards passing in only five of 12 games.
In five of seven home games last season, Missouri limited opposing QB’s to less than 195 yards passing.
Daniels will have to deal with a rowdy environment in Columbia — much different than his first two cake walks at home thus far.

The Texas-native wide receiver is on the way to a potential breakout season in Missouri after racking up only 383 and 352 yards in his first two campaigns with the Tigers.
Johnson made a mark in last Saturday’s rout of Central Arkansas with a career-high 134 yards on 5 receptions. Last season, the junior didn’t eclipse 52 yards in a game until a 122-yard effort in a Music City Bowl victory over Iowa.
The yardage may not have been plentiful in 2024, but Johnson hit on several big plays. In three of the final four games, Johnson hauled in 3 receptions of 44 yards or more.
Missouri RB Ahmad Hardy Projection: 72.5 Rush Yards
Mizzou starting RB Ahmad Hardy enters his first season in Columbia following a spectacular freshman campaign at UL-Monroe, where he posted 1,351 rushing yards to lead the Sun Belt.
His 13 rushing TDs tied him for most in the conference.
In his Tigers’ debut, Hardy averaged 10 yards per carry on his way to a 100-yard performance, while also scoring on a four-yard TD scamper.
Hardy eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark in eight games last season. His two lowest outputs came against SEC squads, compiling 30 yards against Texas and 60 yards against Auburn.
