As they continue to fight for playoff seeding in a crowded NFC, the Packers sit at 9-5-1 on the year. Not only that, but head coach Matt LaFleur’s squad has dropped back-to-back games against tough foes, including the division-leading 11-4 Bears.
To make matters even worse, QB Jordan Love was knocked out of Week 16’s 22-16 overtime loss to Chicago. He’s been in concussion protocol all week, also nursing a shoulder injury. Did he progress quickly enough to play in Saturday’s contest against the visiting Ravens (8:00 p.m. ET on Peacock)?
Let’s take a closer look at a Jordan Love injury update and what it could mean for the Packers’ fantasy outlook in Week 17. We’ll also weave in PrizePicks player projections for Ravens vs. Packers.
Jordan Love Injury Update: Will Packers QB Play on Saturday vs. Ravens?
After Love was a limited participant in practice from Tuesday through Thursday, many Packers fans held out hope that he’d play in Week 17. That optimism wasn’t extinguished when he originally carried a “questionable” designation on the injury report.
That didn’t last for long. On Friday, Green Bay downgraded Love to out, meaning backup QB Malik Willis will get the start in Saturday’s prime-time bout with Baltimore.
Willis himself was limited in practice this week due to a right shoulder ailment and an illness. He didn’t work at all on Wednesday. Still, the former third-round pick is in line to make his fourth appearance of the 2025 campaign.
Packers’ Fantasy Football Outlook for Week 17 vs. Ravens
In relief of Love last weekend, Willis completed 9 of 11 passes for 121 yards and a TD. He also rushed for 44 yards on 10 attempts.
It doesn’t take a trip too far in the proverbial Wayback Machine to find examples of Willis leading the Packers to wins. Green Bay went 2-0 in his starts in Weeks 2 and 3 of last season. In those outings, he went a tidy 25-of-33 for 324 passing yards, 2 TDs and no INTs. His 12 rushes for 114 yards and another TD also helped.
Willis faces a tall task in replacing Love’s production. According to SumerSports, the latter has amassed more total EPA (102.84) than all but one QB this year. Can the Pack get by the Ravens without one of their best players?
