Currently occupying the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference, the 35-29 Denver Nuggets are just a full game out of a tie for the third spot. Every game carries plenty of importance, including Monday’s showdown with the 50-15 Oklahoma City Thunder, but one player’s status is in question.
Ahead of tip-off at 7:30 p.m. ET, many are wondering whether PG Jamal Murray will be able to give it a go. Murray has been a key cog in the Denver machine all season long, and replacing his production directly would be much easier said than done.
With that in mind, let’s dive into the latest Jamal Murray injury update, also looking at how it could impact PrizePicks player projections for Nuggets vs. Thunder on Monday.

Jamal Murray Injury Update vs. Thunder Tonight
According to Monday’s NBA injury report, as of 3:30 p.m. ET, Murray was listed as questionable for Nuggets vs. Thunder with a left ankle sprain.
Murray sustained the ailment in Friday’s 142-103 loss to the visiting New York Knicks. He managed to play just 18 minutes before hobbling off the floor, having already gone 5-for-10 from the field and 1-for-3 from deep with 12 points.
Following the blowout defeat, head coach David Adelman said Murray “usually comes back and plays (quickly),” which created some initial buzz of optimism ahead of a weekend to rest and recover.
It’s been a career year for Murray, who just made the All-Star team for the first time. In 59 games, he’s averaged 25.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 7.2 assists on 48.4% shooting and 43.1% from 3-point land.
Jamal Murray Injury Impact: Which Nuggets Players to Target?
It’s virtually impossible to replicate the output of a star-level player. With that said, Denver does have a somewhat insulated roster with various skill sets to choose from.
Three particular Nuggets guards logged at least 20 minutes in the aforementioned Knicks loss: Christian Braun (31), Tim Hardaway Jr. (23), and Bruce Brown (22).
Braun's missed substantial time due to injury this season but has produced to the tune of 12.1 PPG, 5.3 RPG, and 3.4 APG since returning on February 3, shooting 51.7% in that span. Via databallr, however, his true shooting clip drops from 61.6% with Murray to 48.2% without him.
Hardaway’s playing time is hefty; he’s netted 28.1 MPG and scored 14.4 PPG since the turn of the calendar to 2026. In minutes without Murray, his usage spikes by 9.6%. Brown, more of a team-oriented role player, experiences just a 2.8% bump in involvement in Murray-less action.
Of course, the easiest solution for Denver is Murray fighting through the pain and discomfort in a pivotal Western Conference clash.
