Despite being an inter-conference meeting, it’s an important one nonetheless. With the 6-4 Jaguars fighting for playoff positioning in the AFC, their road bout against the 3-7 Cardinals suddenly becomes a sneaky game to monitor in Week 12.
Sunday’s outing (4:05 p.m. ET on CBS) sees QBs Trevor Lawrence and Jacoby Brissett battle it out in Glendale. As both clubs drag their feet a bit, it’s time for one to separate from the pack in either direction.
Below, we’ll break down our Jaguars vs. Cardinals prediction and NFL Week 12 picks to consider. Use PrizePicks NFL to monitor player projections and make picks for real rewards if you’re right.
Jaguars vs. Cardinals Prediction, Preview for Week 12
As expected, the Jaguars and Cardinals haven’t played one another too often. Sunday marks just the seventh all-time meeting between them, with Arizona boasting a 4-2 series lead. That record was constructed by a four-game winning streak, including 2021’s 31-19 triumph.
Unfortunately, neither side comes into Week 12 at 100%. For Jacksonville, WR Brian Thomas Jr. (ankle) is out. On the other end, star Arizona WR Marvin Harrison Jr. will miss another game following an appendectomy.
Jacksonville Jaguars Preview vs. Cardinals
The Jaguars ended the Doug Pederson head coaching era on a sour note, turning in an ugly 4-13 2024 campaign.
With first-time head coach Liam Coen now at the helm, things are going much better. Jacksonville is 6-4 on the year, currently slotted as the No. 7 seed in the AFC playoff picture.
Offensively, the Jags are still finding their way. They’re 19th in points per drive, but a sound rushing attack (eighth in yards per game) helps keep them afloat.
Defense is where Jacksonville earns its keep. They’re a suffocating run group, surrendering the second-lowest yardage total in that regard, and are 10th in yards per drive on D.
Arizona Cardinals Preview vs. Jaguars
The Cardinals showcased improvement from year one to year two with head coach Jonathan Gannon, going from 4-13 in 2023 to 8-9 a season ago.
That success hasn’t been replicated in 2025. Arizona is just 3-7 through 10 games, partially due to injuries to players like Harrison and QB Kyler Murray.
Arizona has thrown more passes than any team this season with 375, yet they’re still barely in the bottom half of the league (17th) in points per drive.
On the other side of the ball, the Cardinals struggle to get off the field. They’re 25th in scoring and are 18th in the red zone.
Jaguars vs. Cardinals Picks for NFL Week 12 on Sunday
Here are three Jaguars vs. Cardinals picks for NFL Week 12 on Sunday. Some top same-game PrizePicks projections to consider include QBs Trevor Lawrence and Jacoby Brissett, in addition to RB Travis Etienne.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence vs. Cardinals Projection: 236.5 Pass + Rush Yards
- In year five, Lawrence averages 233.2 combined passing and rushing yards. In three games since the turn of the calendar to November, however, he’s averaged just 199.7.
- Lawrence failed to reach 200 passing yards in four of 10 games. He’s also finished below 10 rushing yards in five outings.
- Per SumerSports, 39 QBs have logged 100+ plays this year. Lawrence ranks 28th in EPA/play at -0.02.
- The Cardinals rank 17th in most passing yards yielded to QBs and are downright dominant against scrambles, allowing 108 rushing yards overall (third-fewest).
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne vs. Cardinals Projection: 53.5 Rush Yards
- Starting all 10 games this year, Etienne averages a career-high 72.9 rushing yards per week.
- On 54.5% of available snaps in his last three contests, the 2021 first-round pick has a whopping 57 carries — 19 per game on average.
- The Cardinals have allowed the 11th-most fantasy points to RBs per game (20.1).
- Of the 30 RBs with 100+ carries, Etienne’s been tackled for a loss on just 8.44% of his tries. Per NFL Pro, Arizona ranks 17th with a “stuff” rate of only 16.4%.
Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett vs. Jaguars Projection: 245.5 Pass Yards
- Since taking over for Murray, Brissett has attempted a staggering 42.4 passes per game. In Week 11, he broke the single-game record for completions with 47.
- Brissett averages 314.0 passing yards in his five starts this season. Even without last week’s explosion included, he’s still at a healthy 279.5.
- Jacksonville surrenders the eighth-highest per-game passing yardage total to QBs at 247.3.
- Brissett averages 10.9 air yards per attempt when pressured. Against a feisty Jaguars front, he could be incentivized to air it out and live with the results.
