The Green Bay Packers will see their veterans report to training camp Tuesday, July 22, with their first practice set to take place Wednesday, July 23.
As the Packers kick off their training camp, there are some new players and fantasy football storylines to watch on offense. Let’s look at three players to watch during training camp, including first-round WR Matthew Golden, TE Tucker Kraft, and the RB depth chart
After making the playoffs as a Wild Card team last season, the Packers will have their sights set on displacing the Detroit Lions atop the NFC North this year. They'll need a few key pieces to step up on offense to get there.

WR Matthew Golden

The Packers weren’t short on wide receiver options entering last season. However, they had plenty of disappointments at the position.
WR Christian Watson had just 29 receptions and two touchdowns across 15 games before suffering a torn ACL — he will miss the start of the season. Injuries limited WR Romeo Doubs to just 13 games, leaving him with 46 receptions for 601 yards and four touchdowns. WR Dontayvion Wicks played 17 games, but had just 39 receptions for 415 yards.
Their lone bright spot was WR Jayden Reed, who caught 55 of 75 targets for 857 yards and six touchdowns.
The Packers addressed their lack of production at wide receiver through the drafts, selecting Matthew Golden in the first round. While he doesn’t bring a ton of size to the table, Golden does have a lot of speed, running a 4.29-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Reed is likely still the top receiving option for the Packers, but Golden could work his way into their number two spot. It'll be worth watching how this WR competition takes place throughout camp, and whether Golden lives up to his first-round draft spend.
According to FantasyPros, Golden has an ADP of 105, which isn’t far behind Reed and his ADP of 99.
TE Tucker Kraft

The Packers selected TE Luke Musgrave in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. In that same draft, they selected TE Tucker Kraft in the third round. They had similar stats their rookie season, but Kraft emerged as their top tight end in 2024, thanks in part to Musgrave suffering an ankle injury that forced him to miss 10 games.
Kraft finished the season with 70 targets, which he turned into 50 receptions for 707 yards and seven touchdowns.
Tucker not only posted 14.1 yards per reception last season, but he averaged 9.4 yards after the catch. Opposing defenses have another wide receiver to worry about now in Golden, which could lead to some favorable coverages for Kraft.
As long as Kraft maintains his spot atop the Packers’ tight end depth chart over Musgrave in training camp, he’s someone to consider in fantasy football if you want to wait to draft a tight end.
According to FantasyPros, Kraft has an ADP of 119, which makes him TE13.
Packers RB Depth Chart
There is no question that Josh Jacobs is the top running back for the Packers. He had an excellent 2024 campaign in which he ran 301 times for 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns. Jacobs is projected for 1,049.5 rush yards, 9.5 rush TDs, and 3.5 100+ yard rushing yard games this season via NFLSZN on PrizePicks.
The question is: who will serve as his primary backup this season? Given Jacobs’ hefty workload, whoever is his backup could be a significant fantasy contributor if Jacobs were to suffer an injury.
The two top backup options for Jacobs are MarShawn Lloyd and Emanuel Wilson. Wilson was an undrafted free agent who finished with 103 carries last year. He made the most of them, rushing for 502 yards and four touchdowns.
Lloyd comes with more pedigree after being selected in the third round of the 2024 Draft. However, injuries limited him to just one game during his rookie season.
Lloyd had 18 rushing touchdowns over his final two seasons of college. He also averaged 7.1 yards per carry in his final college season.
Given how well Wilson performed last season, he might have the upper hand over Lloyd for the No. 2 RB job. However, a healthy training camp from Lloyd could help him move up the depth chart.
According to FantasyPros, Lloyd has an ADP of 187, while Wilson has an ADP of 314, indicating that he is only being drafted in deep formats.
