CFB DFS Picks for Week 1: Player Picks for PrizePicks

Here are six of my top Friday CFB DFS picks for Week 1 of college football. Lock in these picks on PrizePicks by picking More or Less and win real money if your Lineup hits!

Georgia Tech QB Haynes King Projection: 279.5 Pass+Rush Yards

Georgia Tech vs. Colorado Pick – 8 p.m. ET (ESPN)

  • Georgia Tech QB Haynes King led all quarterbacks in the ACC with 2,701 pass+rush yards in 11 games.
  • This total is more than 700 yards lower than in 2023. This regression is likely attributed to the torn labrum King played through in 2024.
  • King had more than 279 pass+rush yards in 5 of 12 games last season.
  • King was named to the watch lists for the Maxwell Award, Johnny Unitas Award, and Manning Award.
  • Colorado was 17th in opponents’ total yards per play (4.7) and 35th in total yards allowed per game (343.8) last season.

Auburn QB Jackson Arnold: 1.5 Passing Touchdowns

Auburn vs. Baylor Pick – 8 p.m. ET (FOX)

Auburn WR Cam Coleman Projection: 5 Receptions

Auburn vs. Baylor Pick – 8 p.m. ET (FOX)

Auburn WR Cam Coleman projections
  • After starting the 2024 season slow, Auburn WR Cam Coleman finished with at least 7 catches and 78 receiving yards in three straight games.
  • The early struggles are likely due to the grade II shoulder sprain Coleman suffered in Week 2 against California.
  • Coleman was named to the 2025 AP Preseason All-American team.
  • Arnold called Coleman his “fail safe” wide receiver.
  • Baylor was 79th in catches allowed per game (19.2) in 2024.
  • Coleman closed his 2024 campaign averaging 102 yards and two touchdowns per game across the last three games.

Baylor WR Josh Cameron Projection: 54.5 Receiving Yards

Auburn vs. Baylor Pick – 8 p.m. ET (FOX)

PrizePicks CFB - Josh Cameron Projections
  • Baylor WR Josh Cameron led the team in catches (52), receiving yards (754), and receiving touchdowns (10).
  • Cameron had a slow start to the 2024 season, but finished up strong with more than 100 receiving yards in three of his final four games.
  • Cameron was named to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List.
  • The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman added Cameron to his annual freaks list, which highlights college players with high levels of athleticism, size, strength, and skill.
  • While SEC defenses are typically a step up fro Big 12 defenses, Auburn was 105th in yards allowed per completion (12.9) last year.
  • Baylor returns 10 starters on offense from their 2025 team, keeping the core in tact on an offense that finished strong in 2024.

Wake Forest RB Demond Claiborne: 18.5 Rush Attempts

Kennesaw State vs. Wake Forest – 7 p.m. ET (ACCN)

  • In 2024, Wake Forest RB Demond Claiborne finished third in the ACC in carries (228), sixth in rushing yards (1,049), and tied for fifth in rushing touchdowns (11).
  • Claiborne had more than 18 rush attempts in 8 of 12 games last season.
  • Claiborne was named to the Preseason All-American Team by Phil Steele and the Maxwell Award Watch List for most outstanding player.
  • Wake Forest will have a whole new coaching staff, including offensive coordinator Rob Ezell. He will run a power spread offense, which emphasizes the run-pass option and helps running backs with clear blocking lanes.
  • Kennesaw State was 92nd last season in rushing attempts allowed per game (37.8).

Baylor RB Bryson Washington: 88.5 Rushing Yards

Auburn vs. Baylor Pick – 8 p.m. ET (FOX)

  • Baylor RB Bryson Washington finished seventh in the Big 12 in rushing yards (1,028).
  • Washington had more than 88 rushing yards in 5 of 11 games, including three of the final four.
  • This Baylor backfield was expected to be a two-headed monster. However, with the season-ending injury to RB Dawson Pendergrass, Washington could be the lone feature back.
  • Auburn was 28th in rushing yards allowed per game (125.2). However, DE Keldric Faulk is the only returning starter from the defensive line.
