Aryna Sabalenka is coming off an impressive straight-sets victory over Naomi Osaka and is looking more and more like the clear favorite to win her first-ever French Open title. In the quarterfinals, she’ll face Diana Shnaider, a player who’s never advanced this far in a major.
On the men’s side, Felix Auger-Aliassime is seeking his first major title and is in a great spot to get there as the second-highest seed left in the draw. However, he could be looking at a very even matchup in the quarters versus Flavio Cobolli.
Below, we’ll break down our French Open predictions for Wednesday’s tennis slate, including winner payouts, key stats, and two tennis match predictions for PrizePicks.

Aryna Sabalenka vs. Diana Shnaider Prediction for the French Open — Wednesday, June 3
Match Winner Payouts: Sabalenka 1.09x | Diana Shnaider 5.88x
Tournament Round: Quarterfinals
2026 Record Entering the French Open: Sabalenka 27-3 | Shnaider 13-11
Head-to-Head Record: First Career Meeting
How to Watch: TNT, truTV, and HBO Max
Aryna Sabalenka is the only major champion left in the women’s draw, and after she largely bullied Naomi Osaka around in the fourth round, it’s going to be awfully hard for anyone to stop her from claiming her first French Open title.
Sabalenka completely dominated her service games against Osaka, winning 83% of her first-serve points and 55% of her second-serve points. Further, after tallying a mere 3 total aces over the first three rounds, she piled up a dozen in the straight-sets win.
Perhaps the only person who could stop Sabalenka from lifting the trophy is Sabalenka herself, as we’ve historically seen the pressure sometimes get to her in the final stages of Grand Slams.
But if Sabalenka continues to play at this high level, Diana Shnaider may have a tough time staying in this match. Sabalenka has lost just three matches all season, and while two of those came on clay ahead of Roland Garros, she’s yet to drop a set or play a tiebreak in Paris.
Additionally, despite Sabalenka’s occasional mental lapses that have deprived her of more major trophies, no woman on tour has more consistently advanced to the semifinals or better at Grand Slams. Dating back to the 2022 US Open, she’s reached at least the semis in 12 of the last 13 majors she’s played in.
On the other hand, this is uncharted territory for Shnaider, a first-time major quarterfinalist. She logged a middling 5-4 record on clay in the lead-up to Roland Garros and has struggled to string together multiple wins in a row throughout the 2026 season.
Per Tennis Abstract’s Elo ratings, Sabalenka has an 86.0% win probability versus Shnaider.

Aryna Sabalenka vs. Diana Shnaider Pick for the French Open on Wednesday
Diana Shnaider — 7.5 Total Games Won
Across the first four rounds, Sabalenka’s opponents have won 6, 7, 5, and 8 total games.
Shnaider has won only 57% of her first-serve points in Paris, compared to 73% for Sabalenka. Diana’s also managed just 3 aces all tournament, which falls in line with her having a poor career ace rate on clay (1.9%).
Over her career, Shnaider is just 1-14 against top-10 opponents across all surfaces.
Felix Auger-Aliassime vs. Flavio Cobolli Prediction for the French Open — Wednesday, June 3
Match Winner Payouts: Auger-Aliassime 1.88x | Cobolli 1.81x
Tournament Round: Quarterfinals
2026 Record Entering the French Open: Auger-Aliassime 19-10 | Cobolli 18-12
Head-to-Head Record: Cobolli Leads 2-0
How to Watch: TNT and HBO Max
We’re seeing virtually identical match winner payouts in what looks like a pick ‘em between Felix Auger-Aliassime and Flavio Cobolli.
For Auger-Aliassime, this will be his fifth time reaching a major quarterfinal but his first at the French Open. Historically, clay has been his worst surface (53.8% win percentage), and he didn’t do much to change that narrative by going 4-4 in his clay warm-up tourneys.
However, FAA’s first serve has been doing work at this French Open, as he’s tallied the fifth-most aces (48) over the first four rounds.
This is also Cobolli’s first French Open quarterfinal and his second-ever major quarterfinal. But in the Italian’s case, clay is his best surface (60.7% win percentage), and two of his three career titles have come on the surface. He went 9-5 across four clay events before coming to Paris, including a runner-up finish in Munich.
Cobolli has also performed well when serving at the French Open. While he’s logged just 31 aces, he’s won 79% of his first-serve points and 60% of his second-serve points.
Tennis Abstract’s Elo ratings also project a tight matchup, showing a 52.5% win chance in favor of Auger-Aliassime.

Felix Auger-Aliassime vs. Flavio Cobolli Pick for the French Open on Wednesday
Flavio Cobolli — 20.5 Total Games Won
Cobolli leads the head-to-head against Auger-Aliassime 2-0, defeating Auger-Aliassime twice in 2024. Interestingly, both of those matches came on hard courts, which is FAA’s best surface.
Over his career on clay, FAA is 12-16 versus top-20 opponents and 4-11 versus top-10 opponents. Cobolli enters the match ranked 11th in the ATP live rankings.
Cobolli is the fresher of the two players. Auger-Aliassime has spent 13 hours and 14 minutes on court, while Cobilli is at a more tidy 9 hours and 37 minutes.
Even if Cobolli can get the victory, he could have a tough time doing so in straight sets due to FAA serving so well. In addition to racking up the aces, Auger-Aliassime has won 78% of his first-serve points. Three of FAA’s four matches have gone four or five sets, as well.
