D’Andre Swift Injury Update: Will Swift Play in Week 4?

After not appearing on the Bears’ injury report earlier this week, Swift missed Thursday’s practice while dealing with a knee injury. However, Swift is expected to return to practice on Friday afternoon, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.

On Friday, Bears head coach Ben Johnson said that Swift was “still feeling the effects of a Monday night football game.” However, he was officially taken off the injury report, meaning Swift is good to go for Sunday's battle with the Jets.

Swift received his largest workload of the young season in a 27-7 win against the Eagles in Week 3. The veteran RB carried the ball 20 times for 84 yards and caught 2 passes in Monday’s contest.

Swift has received the majority of the backfield work to begin the 2026 season. Could a limited role be ahead for Swift? If so, who could provide increased production?

D'Andre Swift Fantasy Football Outlook for Week 4

Swift has been quite successful since signing a three-year, $24 million deal with the Bears back in 2024. The Bears RB has stayed healthy throughout his tenure, missing just one regular-season contest in two full seasons.

Swift has enjoyed an impressive start to the 2026 season, carrying the ball 54 times for 253 yards and 3 TDs, while averaging 4.7 yards per carry. The former second-round pick had his best game in Week 1, rushing for 124 yards and 3 TDs in a 59-37 win against the Panthers.

The Bears utilize Swift a great deal in their offense, running 31.3 rushing plays per game (second). Swift has the seventh-most rushing yards in the league and a 62.7% snap share (15th among RBs), per PlayerProfiler.

If Swift is limited on Sunday, RB Kyle Monangai would likely see increased work. Swift and Monangai are the only RBs that have registered carries for the Bears this season.

Monangai has posted 30 carries for 178 yards and a TD, while averaging 5.9 yards per carry. The former Rutgers standout rushed for 100 yards and a TD on 10 carries against the Panthers in Week 1. Plus, he received 10 carries for 31 yards against the Eagles on Monday night.

Despite not getting a massive workload, Monangai has tallied 0.92 fantasy points per opportunity, ranking 15th among RBs. The second-year RB has been utilized in the red zone with 20 red-zone touches (20th among RBs).

The Jets’ defense gave up 31 points and 381 yards of total offense in a 31-24 loss to the Lions in Week 3. New York has defended the run fairly well, allowing a -0.194 EPA per rush (seventh), per RBSDM.

It’s also worth noting that the Bears lead the NFL in rushing yards per game (184.3) and have recorded a 0.02 EPA per rush (eighth), according to SumerSports.
