Cowboys vs. Vikings Sunday Night Football Picks for Week 15

Here are some top SNF picks to target in the Cowboys vs. Vikings game tonight on PrizePicks to close our Sunday's Week 15 slate.

Cowboys WR George Pickens vs. Vikings Pick: 73.5 Receiving Yards

Pickens has become one of the best acquisitions of the 2024 offseason, bolstering the Cowboys' passing attack.

Over his last five games, he’s averaging 10.2 targets per game, hauling in six or more receptions in five straight contests, and posting 98.8 receiving yards per game. Two of those outings cleared 140 yards, underscoring his true WR1 upside.

On the season, Pickens ranks top five in receiving TDs (8), receiving yards (1,179), and receptions (78), while providing his quarterback with an elite 118.7 passer rating when targeted.

Minnesota’s secondary is thin, with CB Fabian Monroe seeing minimal coverage snaps and S Josh Metellus ranking near the bottom of the league in coverage. Pickens should see plenty of coverage from CB Byron Murphy Jr., who ranks as the 87th corner in coverage, per PFF.

Vikings RB Aaron Jones vs. Cowboys Pick: 45.5 Rushing Yards

The Dallas Cowboys have struggled mightily against the run, especially since Week 10, ranking 23rd in EPA allowed to opposing running backs since then.

On the season, the Cowboys are giving up 4.7 yards per rush, ranking 27th in the NFL.

Cowboys starting LB Kenneth Murray has graded as the worst run-defending linebacker in the NFL, via PFF, while veteran interior lineman Kenny Clark is having a down year, ranking 76th out of 128 interior defenders against the run.

After dealing with early-season injuries, Vikings RB Aaron Jones is trending up, seeing his second-highest carry total of the season last week with 14 rushing attempts, which he turned into 76 yards on the ground. He has rushed for 70+ yards in both games with 10+ carries this year.

Despite missing time with injuries, Jones is still averaging 4.6 yards per carry this year, good for top 20 in the NFL. He's compiled 376 rushing yards on just 81 carries.

Vikings WR Justin Jefferson vs. Cowboys Pick: 62.5 Receiving Yards

Jefferson remains one of the most reliable wide receivers in football, even amid quarterback instability this season, including sophomore QB J.J. McCarthy.

Dallas plays zone coverage at one of the highest rates in the NFL, and Jefferson is targeted at the eighth-highest rate in the league against zone. The two-time NFL All-Pro WR ranks eighth in receiving yards and seventh in receptions versus zone.

While he’s been held to just four receptions over his last two games, primetime has historically been Jefferson’s stage, as he’s averaging 8 targets and 66.3 receiving yards per game on primetime games this season.

He still leads the Vikings in target percentage at 30.45% — second highest among all NFL WRs — and weighted opportunity rating at 74.58%, also second best among WRs. Now he gets a matchup vs. a Cowboys defense that ranks 30th in expected points added per dropback this year.
