Is this the year the Kansas City Chiefs finally cede the AFC West title? If so, we'll get a first look in Friday's NFL Brazil game.
QB Bo Nix and the Broncos might have something to say about that. And there's a teeny-tiny chance RB Ashton Jeanty, TE Brock Bowers, and their Raiders might be a problem.
But you can be certain that Chiefs HC Andy Reid is more than a little concerned about QB Justin Herbert and a potentially explosive Los Angeles Chargers offense.
Whether you want to back stars like Patrick Mahomes or Justin Herbert or a rookie like Omarion Hampton, you can win money with your Chiefs vs. Chargers predictions in Brazil on PrizePicks — just pick your players, predict More or Less on their projected stats, and cash in when you're right.

Kansas City leads the all-time series 71-58-1, and is riding a seven-game winning streak against the Bolts. Six of K.C.'s wins over L.A. were decided by one score.
Los Angeles looks to both make the postseason in 2025-26 and snap the Chiefs' nine-year division title streak.
Chiefs Preview
The Chiefs would undoubtedly love another crack at a Lombardi Trophy after their Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Mahomes is as locked in as ever, setting the tone for the reigning AFC champions. That, paired with an in-shape Travis Kelce, bodes well for Kansas City’s offense.
That said, the Chiefs will be without WR Rashee Rice for the first six games of the year. He’s serving a suspension that will have a ripple effect on the rest of the team.
The football world knows Kansas City can win with ball control and solid defense. Will the addition of rookie left tackle Josh Simmons help them reestablish an explosive attack?
Chargers Preview
The Jim Harbaugh era in L.A. got off to a strong start. The Chargers HC let his team to an 11-6 record last season — finishing behind only the Chiefs in the West.
Following a brutal loss in the Wild Card round, it’s time for more. The Chargers have set a solid floor thanks to their defense, which ranked sixth in EPA/play allowed last year per SumerSports. It’s the other side of the ball that needs improvement.
A reunion with WR Keenan Allen certainly helps matters, but will that along with rookie additions like RB Omarion Hampton and WR Tre Harris be enough? And all eyes are on the tackle position, especially following Rashawn Slater’s season-ending injury.
Chiefs vs. Chargers Picks for NFL DFS
Here are three Chiefs vs. Chargers PrizePicks player picks for Friday night’s Brazil game, including projections to target for Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, and Najee Harris.
Patrick Mahomes vs. Chargers Projection: 244.5 Pass Yards
Last season was an odd one for Mahomes, as he failed to reach the 4,000-yard passing mark for the first time in a full campaign. The two-time NFL MVP averaged 245.5 yards per contest, falling right in line with his Week 1 projection.
In 12 career games against the Chargers, Mahomes has racked up 3,270 passing yards, good for 272.5 per game. In his two 2024 games against the Bolts, he threw for 245 yards (Week 4) and 210 (Week 14) yards.
Mahomes averages 294 passing yards and 3 TDs in regular-season openers.
Justin Herbert vs. Chiefs Projection: 233.5 Pass Yards
Herbert is coming off a solid, yet unspectacular 2024. While his league-best 0.6% INT rate stood out, he threw for just 3,870 yards and 23 touchdowns. His 101.7 passer rating marked the best of his career.
The Oregon product generally raises the statistical bar against the Chiefs. Despite a 2-7 record against K.C., he averages 266.1 passing yards per game with a 101.5 rating. He’s topped the 300-yard mark in two of his five season debuts.
Najee Harris vs. Chiefs Projection: 23.5 Rush Yards
Harris had perhaps the strangest offseason of anyone in the NFL. The veteran halfback not only left the Pittsburgh Steelers for a new team, but a fireworks accident in July landed him on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.
But all is now good for the former Alabama star, who was a full participant in practice during the week. All signs point to him suiting up in Week 1, although Hampton should be LA’s primary back.
Harris’ career rushing average is 63.4 yards per game, but that slips to 42.2 in Week 1 matchups.
