After opening the season with 21.3 PPG over the first three games, the New York Jets’ offense has dipped to only 14.5 PPG in their last two games. Jets RB Breece Hall missed both of those contests with a quad injury, making a clear impact on this unit’s production.
Hall’s injury was initially tabbed as a multi-game setback, but he wasn’t placed on injured reserve. Following over two weeks since suffering the injury, a return could come sooner rather than later for the Jets’ RB1.
Let’s look at the latest Breece Hall injury update and break down when he could return to the field. If he’s back for Week 6’s meeting vs. the Patriots, how does that impact fantasy football and picks for PrizePicks?

Breece Hall Injury Update: Is Jets RB Playing This Week?
After sustaining the quad injury in Week 3, Hall missed all three practices ahead of Week 4 and Week 5. That continued into this week, with Hall absent from Wednesday’s practice.
While Hall was not practicing with the team on Thursday, he progressed to individual drills. That’s a step in the right direction, but as Rich Cimini of ESPN reported, Hall is still considered week to week.
Hall has been extremely limited for over two weeks, so it’s unlikely he becomes a full participant for Friday’s practice. Even a limited status would be a surprise considering he just returned to individual drills.
With that said, the Jets could be prepping for another game without Hall. If he’s out, who could produce vs. the Patriots in Week 6?
Jets Fantasy Football Outlook If Hall Is Out: Target Braelon Allen?
In Week 4, Jets RB Braelon Allen dominated the backfield with a 93.8% snap share, 14 rushing attempts, 59 rushing yards, 2 receptions, and 8 receiving yards. That yielded only 8.7 fantasy points in PPR leagues (RB33), putting Allen’s value in question.
A week later, Allen still took most of the work with an 85.7% snap rate. However, RB Isaiah Davis went from a 6.3% snap rate in Week 4 to 14.3% last week. Davis tallied 2 carries for 8 rushing yards and 2 targets, 1 catch, and 9 receiving yards after not logging a touch in Week 4.
However, that wasn’t enough to dip into Allen’s work. In fact, his 25 touches in Week 5 easily surpassed 16 from Week 4. Allen racked up 24 rushing attempts, 116 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, and 18.6 receiving yards (RB8) in a 17-12 win vs. the Browns.
After Allen reeled in 1 catch for 0 yards on 4 targets last week, perhaps Davis will eat into receiving work. That holds weight with the Jets tabbed as 6.5-point underdogs for the spread vs. the Patriots, via PrizePicks. A negative game script usually means more passing attempts.
Regardless, Allen will likely keep dominating the ground game if Hall is out again. He’s been efficient with 4.1 yards per carry and 3.30 yards after contact per carry, per Pro Football Focus.
FTN Fantasy’s rushing creation percentage measures how many yards from a runner is generated after first contact. Allen’s 78.4% rushing creation rate ranks second among qualifying RBs.
If Hall is out, Allen is a clear target in the run game, including the following projections on PrizePicks.
- 67.5 Rush Yards
- 16.5 Receiving Yards
- 0.5 Anytime TDs (Demon)
- 4.1 Rush Yards Per Carry
The Patriots give up 4.0 yards per carry (16th) and a 38.5% rush success rate (14th), per RBSDM.
