With only a 6% chance to make the 2025 NFL playoffs, the Detroit Lions need a lot of help — and help could from their star wide receiver, Amon-Ra St. Brown, who is currently battling some knee irritation following their Week 16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell said he was not sure when St. Brown’s injury occurred, but there was positive news regarding his status for Detroit's Week 17 tilt with the Minnesota Vikings.

Let’s look at our Amon-Ra St. Brown injury update and see if the Lions’ Star WR will play on Christmas, as well as PrizePicks projections in one of the last weeks of the NFL regular season.

Will Amon-Ra St. Brown Play in Week 17 Against the Vikings?

As Campbell noted, St. Brown is expected to take the field against the Vikings in Week 17. Despite dealing with a low ankle sprain suffered earlier in December against the Packers — not to mention those aforementioned knee issues — the veteran WR is one of the toughest players in the league and will likely gut it out.

St. Brown has only skipped two games in his five-year career with the Lions, and didn’t miss any time after the aforementioned ankle sprain, so it was not expected that he'll skip this divisional clash, especially with the Lions’ season on the line, despite a couple of DNPs in practice to start the week.

Amon-Ra St. Brown Fantasy Outlook, Projections vs. Vikings

With St. Brown being upgraded to a limited participant on Tuesday, the Sun God is trending in the right direction to suit up and play his normal heavy rotation of snaps for Thursday’s game against the Vikings.

Judging by how he didn’t practice once in the week following his ankle injury but then played a full volume of snaps against the Cowboys and put up 6 catches for 92 yards, he could deliver his typically stellar numbers against the Vikings as well.

St. Brown has averaged nearly 8 catches and 92 receiving yards per contest versus the Vikings in his career, which puts him in a good spot, even against one of the NFL’s top passing defenses. He has not had less than 77 yards against the Vikings in any of their previous five meetings.
