Alabama vs. Michigan Prediction, Spread, Over/Under

Things seemed bleak for Alabama heading into the tourney after their second-leading scorer, G Aden Holloway, was arrested just days before their first game. Despite that, the Crimson Tide have been able to put that behind them and rip off two dominant wins against Hofstra, 90-70, and Texas Tech, 90-65.

They’ve been led all season by projected first-round NBA draft pick, sophomore G Labaron Philon Jr. Philon is one of the most dynamic scorers in college basketball. He leads Alabama in points (21.6) and assists (5.0) per game and has done so on incredible efficiency, shooting 50.2% from the field and 39.7% from 3-point range.

Michigan’s dominant regular season has rolled over into the NCAA Tournament. The Wolverines are coming off back-to-back huge wins against an overmatched Howard team (101-80) and a talented St. Louis Billikens squad (95-72). The theme of both games has matched most of Michigan’s 33 wins: too big, too strong.

The Wolverines feature a massive frontcourt of F Yaxel Lendeborg (6’9), F Morez Johnson Jr. (6’10), and C Aday Mara (7’3). This trio combined for 49 points against Howard and 56 points against St. Louis.

They dominate the paint and boards and are a key reason that “Yes” on Michigan to win the whole thing is currently returning a 4.34x payout on PrizePicks Team Picks.

Alabama vs. Michigan Prediction on Spread – 3/27/26

Here are the key stats to know before locking in your Alabama vs. Michigan prediction on the spread for Friday, March 27, on PrizePicks.

  • Despite Michigan’s dominant season, they're just 16-20-0 (44.4%) against the spread (ATS), the sixth-worst cover record in the Big Ten.
  • Michigan overwhelms teams with its breakneck pace that ranks 22nd in the country, but Alabama thrives in quick outings, ranking fourth in the country in tempo per KenPom.
  • The Crimson Tide may be able to get the most out of each possession, as they rank 10th in the country in turnover percentage at just 13.2%. The Wolverines are 262nd nationally in turnover clip forced (15.3%).
  • Alabama leads the nation in 3-point rate at 53.9. Michigan, on the defensive end, has a defensive 3-point rate of 42.2, which sits 273rd nationally according to Bart Torvik.
  • While 3-point variance is real, if Alabama can get on the right side of it, they could find a route to keeping things competitive in a high-pressure game.
