76ers vs. Celtics Prediction, Spread, Over/Under

Boston currently sits in second place in the Eastern Conference but trails the Detroit Pistons by 5.5 games for the top spot. The Celtics have thrived lately, boasting a 5-1 record over their last six games, with the lone blemish coming against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.

Celtics F Jaylen Brown has shouldered the scoring lead with F Jayson Tatum out of the lineup. Brown is fourth in the NBA in points per game (29.1), behind only Los Angeles Lakers PG Luka Doncic (32.7), Oklahoma City Thunder PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (31.9), and Minnesota Timberwolves SG Anthony Edwards (29.6).

The Boston star has averaged 26.5 PPG while shooting 36.4% from beyond the arc in four games since the All-Star break.

Philadelphia has gotten back on track with a three-game winning streak. The 76ers find themselves in sixth place in the East, just outside the play-in tournament. However, the team was just dealt a tough blow when it was announced that C Joel Embiid will miss at least three games due to an oblique injury.

The 76ers are already without SF Paul George, who is in the midst of serving a 25-game suspension for violating the NBA’s anti-drug policy. George is slated to return before the NBA playoffs get underway.

Without Embiid and George, the 76ers are left to depend on the dynamic duo of PG Tyrese Maxey and rookie SG VJ Edgecombe.

After being selected with the third overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Edgecombe has developed into a significant contributor for Philadelphia, averaging 15.3 PPG, 5.6 RPG, and 4.0 APG while connecting on 36.0% of his 3-point attempts.
