49ers vs. Seahawks Prediction on Total

Despite dealing with injuries all year, San Fran found ways to win, for instance, defeating the Eagles 23-19 as 5.5-point ‘dogs a week ago. Do they have any gas left in the tank?

The Niners average 192.5 passing yards per game and 6.2 yards per passing attempt in two matchups against the Seahawks, a significant dip from the their’ 246.8 passing yards per contest (fifth) and 7.6 yards per passing attempt (eighth) versus the rest of the league.

Seattle boasts a strong pass defense, giving up only 6.0 yards per attempt (first) and -0.10 expected points added (EPA) per dropback (eighth), via SumerSports. San Francisco QB Brock Purdy has coughed up 3 picks vs. the Seahawks, 25% of his INT total of 12. Little surprise, as Seattle has a nose for the ball, as witnessed by their 1.5 takeaways per contest (sixth).

If Pearsall is out, San Francisco could struggle on offense. Their run game totals only 3.7 yards per carry (30th) and they averaged 3.6 against the Seahawks.

The two teams combined for 30 and 16 points in head-to-head meetings. Seattle was held to only 13.0 points per game, averaging 6.7 yards per passing attempt compared to its season-long average of 8.4 (second).

In Week 18’s matchup, the Seahawks leaned on the run game, with 39 carries compared to their 29.8 average (third). They recorded an efficient 4.6 yards per carry in the regular-season finale.

If Seattle goes run-heavy against the 49ers, that could slow the pace, further pointing to an under.

49ers vs. Seahawks Picks for the Divisional Round

Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet and 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey stand out as potential targets for projections on PrizePicks.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey vs. Seahawks Projection: 50.5 Receiving Yards

  • The 49ers’ run game lacked efficiency this season, but McCaffrey has contributed in the passing game with a 24.7% target share (first) and 924 receiving yards (first), per PlayerProfiler.
  • With Kittle and Pearsall missing, respectively, most or all of the Wild Card game, CMC stepped up with 8 targets for 6 catches and 66 receiving yards.
  • The former Offensive Player of the Year’s has a 78.5% route rate (first) and 1.96 yards per route run (second).
  • According to Pro Football Reference, Seattle gives up the sixth-most receiving yards against running backs.
  • McCaffrey reached 53.5 receiving yards per contest when facing the Seahawks this season.

Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet vs. 49ers Projection: 46.5 Rushing Yards

  • Seattle boasts a two-headed monster backfield, with RB Kenneth Walker carrying a 47.5% snap rate compared to Charbonnet’s 48.8%.
  • Charbonnet compiled a 55.1% snap share over the previous four games, topping Walker’s 43.7% during the span.
  • In the last two contests, the former UCLA Bruin posted 17.5 rushing attempts and 92.0 rushing yards per game (5.3 yards per carry). For context, Walker recorded 15.5 carries and 74.0 rushing yards per contest in the split (4.8 yards per rushing attempt).
  •  The 49ers have allowed 160.0 rushing yards per contest over the previous two, compared to 109.6 on the season (12th). Charbonnet’s increased volume could mean success on the ground.
